The tide is turning in the Democratic Party. They are starting to lose hope in Biden as their nominee.
And this Democrat operative unleashes on Joe Biden in a rage-filled rant that you have to see.
In a scathing op-ed for CNN, top Democratic strategist and former Obama adviser David Axelrod sharply criticized President Joe Biden for dismissing concerns about his mental decline during a recent interview.
The 81-year-old president’s refusal to address these issues has intensified worries within the Democratic Party, according to Axelrod.
Axelrod highlighted that Biden’s ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos aimed to allay fears following his troubling debate performance.
However, Axelrod argued that Biden’s attempt to quell the growing panic in the party fell short. “Biden could be excused for wanting to put his awful debate performance in the rearview mirror. That was his purpose Friday in sitting down for the interview — to try and quell the panic that has gripped the Democratic Party,” Axelrod wrote. “He didn’t succeed.”
During the interview, Biden downplayed concerns about his mental acuity and resisted calls to undergo a cognitive test.
He attributed his lackluster debate performance to exhaustion rather than any serious condition.
“It was a bad episode,” Biden admitted to Stephanopoulos. “No indication of any serious condition. I was exhausted. I didn’t listen to my instincts in terms of preparing and — and a bad night.”
Biden’s debate performance, characterized by moments of rambling and incoherence, only added to the concerns.
Despite Stephanopoulos’s persistent questioning, Biden remained steadfast in his refusal to take a neurological test, asserting, “Look. I have a cognitive test every single day. Every day I have that test. Everything I do,” Biden told Stephanopoulos. “You know, not only am I campaigning, but I’m running the world.”
Axelrod’s critique did not stop there. He warned that Biden’s unwillingness to recognize these concerns could lead to electoral disaster. Describing Biden’s stance as “Denial. Delusion. Defiance,” Axelrod cautioned that the president’s refusal to step aside could result in a significant defeat.
“It will be Biden’s age, and not Trump’s moral and ethical void, that will dominate the rest of this most important campaign and sully the president’s historic legacy,” Axelrod wrote.
This is not Axelrod’s first pointed critique of Biden. In May, he criticized Biden’s failure to address voters’ economic concerns, calling it “a terrible mistake.”
The growing discontent is not limited to strategists like Axelrod. Democratic members of Congress are also urging Biden to reconsider his candidacy.
On Saturday, Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) became the fifth House Democrat to call for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
The mounting pressure from within the party reflects a broader anxiety about Biden’s ability to lead, especially with the election looming.
Axelrod’s op-ed highlights a critical moment for the Democratic Party as it grapples with the implications of Biden’s leadership and the future of his presidency.
The Left is in a position that no political party envies thanks to their self-inflicted failures at propping up awful leaders like Joe Biden.
