Donald Trump and Joe Biden smacked with a major 2024 election shakeup

It looks like an October surprise came early this year. Both candidates didn’t see this coming.

And Donald Trump and Joe Biden were smacked with a major 2024 election shakeup.

President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump are the clear nominees for the Democrat and Republican parties.

This will set up a rematch of the 2020 election where Biden was able to defeat Trump.

However, current polls show that Trump has the upper hand on the president currently.

But this latest 2024 election news has now shaken things up in a big way.

The centrist group No Labels has officially announced that they will not be putting together a presidential ticket for this year’s election, according to reports from the Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

The group’s goal was to create a ticket that voters, who are unhappy with the choice of either Biden or Trump, could flock to.

“Nancy Jacobson, No Labels’ founder and CEO, told allies this week that the group would announce Monday that it won’t pursue a presidential campaign this year because it hasn’t been able to recruit a credible ticket that could win the election, the people said,” according to the WSJ.

“Jacobson told supporters that the organization had reached out to 30 potential candidates during its process. No Labels didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on the coming announcement.”

Possible candidates for No Labels were Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV), former Governors Nikki Haley (R-SC) and Larry Hogan (R-MD). All three of those politicians declined the offer.

This announcement by the centrist group comes in the wake of former Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (D-CT) passing over a week ago. Lieberman, who was 82, was a co-chairman for No Labels.

There were concerns that if No Labels did produce a candidate, it would serve as a spoiler to either the Trump campaign or the Biden campaign.

The group opposed such thinking and simply wanted to put forth a choice for Americans who were unhappy with both the Democrat and Republican parties.

If No Labels did run a candidate like Manchin, Haley, or Hogan, they would likely steal votes away from Biden and in turn help Trump, as those candidates have been critical of the former president in recent years.

But even though the group is stepping aside for this election cycle, there are still plenty of other third-party choices for voters.

Most notably is Robert F. Kennedy Jr. who is the main third-party candidate in this year’s presidential election.

Other candidates include Jill Stein of the Green Party and independent candidate Cornel West.

More polls are coming out that show these candidates harming Joe Biden much more than they’re harming Donald Trump.

So while it’s good news for the Biden campaign that No Labels is bowing out of the presidential race, Biden still has to face other third-party candidates that could very well serve as a spoiler to him.
