Trump and Haley are both trying to take the White House back from Joe Biden. But they’re also both political rivals.
And Donald Trump is left speechless after an all-out assault from Nikki Haley.
Former South Carolina Governor and current Republican candidate Nikki Haley is on the move to try and steal the Republican nomination from frontrunner Donald Trump.
As it currently stands, Haley is still trailing the former president by a wide margin, but she’s done well to stay in the fight despite challenges from other competitors like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis or businessman Vivek Ramaswamy.
She also hasn’t been shy with her latest criticism toward Trump and has now compared him to one of his biggest enemies, President Joe Biden.
In an appearance on Fox News’s America’s Newsroom on Wednesday, Haley pointed out how Trump skipping debates is similar to Biden hiding away from reporters.
“He can’t keep hiding the way he’s hiding. He can’t start acting like President Biden. He needs to get on the debate stage. He needs to confront us. He needs to let us talk about the differences and go forward,” Haley explained.
She also mentioned how she’s in the race for the long haul and doesn’t plan on being the runner-up to Trump.
“I don’t play for second, I never have. I’m not going to do it now. We are now in second place in Iowa, second place in New Hampshire, and second place in South Carolina,” the former governor continued.
“We’ve got one more fellow to catch up to, and the momentum is growing.”
Nikki Haley is in second place in New Hampshire and South Carolina according to the latest polling averages from RealClearPolitics.
She sits in third place nationally, while former President Trump is solidly in first place.
Haley also went on to explain why it’s time to move on from Trump despite her agreeing with most of his policies.
“The truth is you have to face facts. I think President Trump was the right president at the right time, I agree with a lot of his policies, but the truth of everything is, rightly or wrongly, chaos follows him,” she added.
“Chaos follows him. Everybody knows that, and with our country divided and the world on fire, we can’t live in chaos anymore.”
Once allies, Haley and Trump have quickly become bitter rivals during this election season.
Attacks have been launched against one another by both individuals and their campaigns.
But once Trump finds out that Haley compared him to Biden, it’s expected that the attacks will only ramp up.
And that’s a given considering how hostile this Republican primary has been thus far.
