Trump is tired of the games. He’s not going to let this country get away with their crimes.

And Donald Trump is preparing a new attack strategy on this foreign nation in a stunning turn of events.

Trump Hints a Major Move on Russia with Upcoming Announcement

President Donald Trump revealed plans for a significant statement on Russia, set to be delivered early next week, as tensions escalate over Russian actions in Ukraine. The announcement comes as the Senate pushes forward with legislation regarding sanctions, potentially limiting the president’s flexibility in foreign policy.

“I think I’ll have a major statement to make on Russia on Monday,” Trump said to NBC News during a phone interview on Thursday.

The president hinted at imminent developments, telling a reporter on the White House lawn Friday morning, “You’ll be seeing things happen,” in response to questions about a Russian drone attack that struck a maternity hospital in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Trump has repeatedly signaled a tougher stance on Moscow, particularly in response to attacks that have harmed Ukrainian civilians. He has floated the idea of imposing steep penalties on nations purchasing Russian goods like oil and minerals.

Additionally, Trump has raised the possibility of supplying Ukraine with a new Patriot air-defense system, either directly or through allies such as Germany or France, to bolster defenses against Russian rocket assaults.

The timing of Trump’s planned statement is critical, as a bipartisan Senate bill, co-sponsored by Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), gains traction.

The legislation, which reportedly has the support of over 80 senators, would mandate a 500% tariff on countries buying Russian oil.

To accommodate Trump’s concerns, the bill allows the president to issue two 180-day waivers, though a second waiver would require congressional approval—a provision the White House has resisted, according to a source familiar with the matter who spoke to the New York Post.

Trump, who has been vocal about his efforts to broker peace between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky since taking office on January 20, views the bill as preserving his authority.

“It’s at my option if I want to use it,” he told NBC News, describing the sanctions package as “very major and very biting” but emphasizing his discretion in its enforcement.

The president’s approach to foreign policy has also included leveraging NATO partnerships. “We’re sending weapons to NATO, and NATO is paying for those weapons, 100%,” Trump stated Thursday night, outlining a system where NATO allies fund and distribute U.S.-provided arms to Ukraine.

This follows his decision to lift a Pentagon pause on defensive weapon shipments to Ukraine, prompted by concerns over dwindling U.S. stockpiles.

Trump’s potential escalation of sanctions marks a shift from the Biden administration’s approach, which spared many of the business elite in Russia. Of those elite, are two billionaires linked to real estate ventures with Hunter Biden.

As the Senate’s legislation looms, Trump’s forthcoming statement could redefine the U.S. stance on Russia and shape the trajectory of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
