Robert F. Kennedy Jr., an independent candidate for president, finally announced last week who his running mate is going to be.
Nicole Shanahan, a wealthy donor who has supported many Democrats including President Joe Biden, was Kennedy’s final choice for his vice president.

Trump deemed the announcement as a win because of how radical her views are.
“RFK Jr. is the most Radical Left Candidate in the race, by far. He’s a big fan of the Green New Scam, and other economy-killing disasters. I guess this would mean he is going to be taking votes from Crooked Joe Biden, which would be a great service to America,” Trump began in a post on Truth Social last Wednesday.
“His running mate, Nicole Shanahan, is even more ‘Liberal’ than him, if that’s possible. Kennedy is a Radical Left Democrat, and always will be!!! It’s great for MAGA, but the Communists will make it very hard for him to get on the Ballot. Expect him, and her, to be indicted any day now, probably for Environmental Fraud!”
There’s been rumblings over the months of whether or not Kennedy’s campaign will take votes away from Biden or Trump in the general election.
But now that he’s picked a Leftist like Shanahan to run with him, it’s very likely now that more voters will flock away from Biden than Trump to vote for Kennedy.
Trump has realized this and said in his Truth Social post that Kennedy “is Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, not mine. I love that he is running!”
Other conservatives share the same sentiment as Trump that Kennedy’s pick for a running mate has hurt the Biden campaign more than the Trump campaign.
“RFK Jr’s selection of Nicole Shanahan as his VP is a very positive development, in my opinion. It makes it far more likely RFK Jr will now take votes away from Biden than he will from Trump,” conservative author and commentator Dinesh D’Souza said in a post to X.
“Had RK Jr made a more conservative choice, he might have taken votes away from Trump.”

In the latest polling averages from RealClearPolling, Donald Trump is up 5.4 points on Joe Biden in a hypothetical three-race matchup between Trump, Biden, and Kennedy.
Poll numbers like that are why Biden and the White House are panicking about Kennedy’s candidacy.
He could very well play spoiler for Biden this November.
