Trump is laying the hammer down. He’s not going to let other countries walk all over the United States.

And Donald Trump smacked a foreign leader with an ultimatum they can’t ignore.

Trump Urges Putin to End Ukraine War, Threatens Severe Economic Measures

Former President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Russian President Vladimir Putin, urging him to end the war in Ukraine swiftly or face severe economic repercussions.

Trump, posting on Truth Social, vowed to impose “high levels of taxes, tariffs, and sanctions” if the conflict continues.

“Settle now, and STOP this ridiculous War! IT’S ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE,” Trump wrote, emphasizing the need for an immediate resolution.

The president also cautioned that without a quick diplomatic solution, his administration would take decisive economic action.

“If we don’t make a ‘deal,’ and soon, I have no other choice but to put high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions on anything being sold by Russia to the United States, and various other participating countries,” Trump declared.

Reiterating his confidence in his ability to end the conflict, Trump added, “Let’s get this war, which never would have started if I were President, over with! We can do it the easy way, or the hard way — and the easy way is always better. It’s time to ‘MAKE A DEAL.’ NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!”

Trump has repeatedly promised to end the nearly three-year-long war early in his second term in office. He has expressed willingness to mediate talks between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to broker a deal.

“I’m not looking to hurt Russia. I love the Russian people and always had a very good relationship with President Putin — and this despite the Radical Left’s Russia, Russia, Russia HOAX,” Trump wrote. He also highlighted Russia’s role in World War II, noting its sacrifices in defeating Nazi Germany. “We must never forget that Russia helped us win the Second World War, losing almost 60,000,000 lives in the process.”

The post came after Trump criticized Putin’s handling of the war, citing reports that more than 700,000 Russian soldiers had been k*lled or injured and the conflict’s devastating impact on Russia’s economy, including inflation nearing 10%.

“He can’t be thrilled,” Trump said of Putin. “He’s not doing so well. I mean, he’s grinding it out … it’s not making him look very good.”

Trump further argued that Putin’s refusal to end the war was harming Russia, stating, “I think he’s destroying Russia by not making a deal.”

While Trump highlighted Zelensky’s openness to diplomacy, he noted that the Ukrainian leader insists that any agreement would need to align with Ukraine’s interests. Kyiv has previously emphasized that a peace deal must include provisions for Ukraine to join NATO, a move Russia staunchly opposes.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Putin signaled a willingness to engage in talks with Trump to discuss the war’s future, provided Russia’s concerns are addressed.

“We hear the statements from Trump and members of his team about their desire to restore direct contact with Russia, which were halted through no fault of ours by the outgoing administration,” Putin remarked.

He also commended Trump’s approach to averting global conflict. “We also hear his statements about the need to do everything to prevent World War III. We certainly welcome such an approach and congratulate the U.S. president-elect on taking office,” Putin added.

As Trump continues to assert his plans for swift action on the Ukraine conflict, the world watches closely to see how his approach might reshape the geopolitical landscape.
