And Ted Cruz gave a chilling warning about terror attacks in the United States.
Senator Ted Cruz dropped a bombshell on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” Wednesday night, sounding the alarm that America stands squarely in the crosshairs of a major terrorist strike.
The Texas Republican didn’t mince words. He laid out how years of reckless leadership have left our homeland exposed like never before.
Cruz pinned the crisis on two deadly factors: the flood of illegal crossings that turned our southern border into a welcome mat for the world’s worst actors, and the reckless move in Washington to kneecap the very agency tasked with stopping attacks before they happen.
“Well, Sean, as we sit here right now tonight, the threat of terrorist attack is higher now than it has been in decades. And there are two causes of it. Number one, we had four years under Joe Biden of open borders. We had 12 million people flood across the border — basically an open invitation to every terrorist, every Hamas and Hezbollah and IRGC terrorist come to America,” Cruz stated.
He wasted no time naming names. Just over a week ago, a gunman in Austin, Texas, showed up wearing a sweatshirt that read “property of Allah,” with an Iranian flag T-shirt underneath. The attacker opened fire at a local bar, gunning down several Texans and wounding more than a dozen others in what Cruz called a brazen act of terrorism.
Then, only days later, two ISIS operatives based in Pennsylvania drove to New York City and hurled homemade bombs packed with nails and bolts. Their goal was mass slaughter. Thankfully, these jihadists proved too incompetent to build working devices, and the bombs fizzled out harmlessly.
“But the terrorists told the Department of Justice they had hoped to k*ll a lot more people than the Boston bombers did at the Boston Marathon,” Cruz said.
“Those are the two terrorist attacks we’ve seen, and we are at danger of more. We have had radical Muslim clerics in the Middle East call for fatwas, issue fatwas against America, instruct Islamists to try to k*ll as many Americans as can.”
“And I got to tell you the most indefensible part of all of this — at a time when we are facing profound threats of terrorism, every single Democrat except John Fetterman has voted over and over and over again to shut down the Department of Homeland Security.”
“The Department of Homeland Security, its central purpose is to prevent acts of terrorism. And the Democrats are saying defund DHS when we’re facing a massive risk of terrorism.”
Cruz made it crystal clear: our enemies are already inside the wire because Democrat elites looked the other way for years.
American patriots have watched in fury as millions poured across the border unchecked, many of them military-age men from terror hot spots who slipped past any real vetting.
Now the chickens are coming home to roost, and everyday citizens in places like Austin and New York are paying the price.
The Department of Homeland Security exists for one reason: to keep Americans safe from exactly this kind of evil. Yet Democrats lined up like sheep to starve it of funding and staff right when the wolves are circling.
