Former President Donald Trump has been a target of Big Media outlets for years. That’s why he has to go on live TV and set the record straight himself.
And Donald Trump went on Fox News and left everyone’s jaws on the floor with this big admission.
Appearing in an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on her “Sunday Morning Futures” show, Donald Trump touched on a variety of topics from the 2024 election to what a second administration for him would look like.
First, Donald Trump mentioned that he’s still not sure he wants to participate in the 2024 Republican primary debates because he has a strong lead.
“You’re leading people by 50 and 60 points, you say, why would you be doing a debate? It’s actually not fair. Why would you let somebody that’s at zero or one or two or three be popping you with questions?” Trump said to Maria Bartiromo.
Previously, Donald Trump said he took issue with the fact that he would have to pledge his support for the eventual Republican nominee, no matter what. It’s unclear if that is still something he is unwilling to do.
Ultimately, he told Bartiromo that he simply hasn’t made up his mind on whether he will participate in the debates.
But then he moved to talking about the others in the Republican field and admitted that he sees potential for some of them to join his administration in some capacity.
You have some very talented people. I’ve been impressed with some of them. A number of them called me up, not for permission, but sort of, to say they’d like to do it,” Trump shared with Bartiromo.
“I think you have good people, good potential Cabinet members.”
Trump specifically name-dropped Tim Scott as someone he could see himself working with in a second Trump administration.
“I could see Tim doing something with the administration. But he’s right now campaigning, and I’m sure Tim and everybody else would say they’re only interested in one thing,” Trump continued.
Later in the interview, he also made a big confession that he wouldn’t have installed some people into his first administration if he knew what they were really about.
He called the former Attorney General Bill Barr “weak” and said some others were simply “incompetent.”
“I mean, I wouldn’t have put a guy like Bill Barr,” said Trump. “He was weak and pathetic. I wouldn’t have put Jeff Sessions. And there are some people that I wouldn’t have put in,” Trump added.
He also says that he is now working with people he knows better and expects a second administration to be better in that way.
“I know the people now better than anybody has ever known. The people I know, the good ones, the bad ones, the dumb ones, the smart ones.”
Trump was also asked about the Democrat primary and the threat that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poses to the incumbent President Joe Biden.
Donald Trump says that he doesn’t think RFK has a shot to win the Democrat nomination over Joe Biden at all.
Surprisingly, he also said he “understands” why Joe Biden doesn’t want to participate in the debates.
“I don’t think he’s capable of doing it. But why would he do it If he’s got a 30 or 40-point lead, which is what he’s got, I mean, I don’t think RFK expects that he’s going to debate… I don’t see RFK Jr., I don’t see him getting the nomination under any circumstances,” Trump said to Bartiromo.
