People are already eyeing the 2028 election. It could get messy.
And a former CNN host made a presidential campaign announcement that will have you laughing.
In a move that reeks of coastal elitism wrapped in faux everyman charm, former CNN anchor Don Lemon is floating the idea of jumping into the 2028 presidential race.
The longtime media insider, known for his sharp tongue and even sharper disconnect from everyday Americans, sat down for a chat with the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast.
What emerged was a revealing glimpse into the mindset of a fading establishment figure convinced he could fix what ails the nation.
Lemon didn’t shy away from the speculation. When pressed on if he was mulling a run, he laid it out plainly.
The conversation quickly turned to his ambitions, with the host zeroing in on the big question hanging over the discussion.
“People keep asking me if I’m running for president, and I don’t know, I might, because people keep asking me to do it and if I’m going to do it,” Lemon stated.
“I actually think I would be a really good president of the United States. I’m being totally serious.”
“I look around, you know, and I see the folks who are, you know, possibly in the running, and some of them are impressive,” Lemon continued.
“Many of them, most of them, are not. And it seems in this day and age you don’t have to have a ton of political experience because our current president has none — had none.”
His critique of the sitting administration took direct aim at priorities that matter most to working families across the heartland.
“The current president is not doing a great job for the working-class people, for the American economy. He’s doing a fantastic job for his rich friends,” Lemon added.
When the podcast hosts drilled down on practical steps, Lemon admitted to testing the waters.
“I’ve talked to people about it, people who have been in politics before, and asked, what would it take? When would I have to get in to do it?” he responded.
Lemon’s flirtation with higher office arrives at a time when distrust in institutional voices runs deep.
Americans have watched institutions like CNN prioritize narrative over facts for too long, alienating millions who simply want strong borders, fair wages, and a government that puts citizens first.
