Biden is out of the White House. But his legacy continues to be tarnished.

And former President Biden was caught red handed in this horrendous scandal.

Biden State Department Funded Drag Workshop in Ecuador with $25K Grant

A nonprofit organization in Ecuador used a $25,000 grant from the Biden administration’s State Department to host a two-day drag workshop in order to promote diversity and inclusion.

Footage from the event, obtained by the New York Post, captured drag performers applying makeup, strutting in scandalous outfits, and discussing how drag can serve as a “political tool.”

The event was organized by Fundación Diálogo Diverso, a nongovernmental organization that advocates for democracy and supports Ecuador’s “LGBTIQ+ population.” The group hosted the drag show and shared footage of it in July of 2024.

The U.S. State Department partially funded the event through its Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. In a video published by the organization, a disclaimer near an American flag acknowledged, “Funds provided by the US government,” according to a translation.

In addition to U.S. funding, Fundación Diálogo Diverso credited HIAS Ecuador—another recipient of State Department grants—for contributing to the program.

Taxpayer-Funded Drag Workshop

Since its founding in 2018, Fundación Diálogo Diverso has received approximately $75,000 in U.S. funding, including last year’s $25,000 grant. The recent workshop, called “Primer Heel,” was an intensive two-day session aimed at educating participants on “the art and history of Drag,” according to a Facebook post.

A narrator in the event footage described it as “A safe space that teaches us to be authentic and challenge gender norms.”

One of the instructors featured in the video emphasized drag’s potential as a form of activism. “We share political visions, personal stories,” he said, calling drag a “way of protesting” without elaborating on specific causes.

Fundación Diálogo Diverso lists the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration as one of its partners.

Scrutiny Over Government Spending

News of U.S. taxpayer dollars funding drag performances in Ecuador comes as the Trump administration and congressional Republicans intensify efforts to cut government spending.

Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has been reviewing federal expenditures to eliminate waste.

Meanwhile, the administration is working to streamline the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), which oversees billions in foreign aid. Recent proposals aim to fold USAID into the State Department.

With ongoing efforts to rein in spending, the use of taxpayer funds for events like the Ecuadorian drag workshop are likely to no longer occur during Donald Trump’s second administration.

It will also be interesting to see how many more useless programs the Biden administration funded over the last four years.
