Newsom is a well-known leader in his party. But his idiotic takes on everything might just put him in the dog house.
And Gavin Newsom commits a humiliating blunder that has the Democrat Party in shambles.
Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) has made it his goal to advance his radical-Leftist agenda to as many places in the country as possible
And despite only being the governor for just the Golden State, he’s stayed true to his goal by commenting on Leftist culture war battles in other states.
The most recent example was last Thursday when he said a Tennessee city was banning being homosexual in public.
Of course, Newsom’s allegations were deemed utterly false.
Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed an ordinance in the summer that prohibited “indecent behavior.”
Governor Newsom, took to X to bash the town by sharing a misleading article from the Leftist news organization, New Republic.
“A city in Tennessee has banned being gay in public. This is just the beginning. We have to call this out,” Newsom’s post said.
Underneath the post, there was context provided by Community Notes – X’s fact-checking service – that provided context to Newsom’s inaccurate post.
“The linked article refers to an ordinance passed in June 2023. This ordinance prohibits ‘Sexual conduct’ as defined in the city code. At the time the city code did include ‘homosexuality’ in this definition. However, in November 2023 ‘homosexuality’ was removed,” the Community Notes post said along with an attached link to the Murfreesboro ordinance.
More specifically, the official ordinance does not allow “indecent exposure, public indecency, lewd behavior, nudity or sexual conduct.”
There’s no mention of homosexuality being a crime.
And the whole purpose of the ordinance is to “promote public decency, maintain family-friendly environments in public places, and protect against harm to minors from public expressions appealing to prurient interests or that are offensive to prevailing community standards.”
X users were quick to bash Newsom for his ridiculously false post.
“Bro you just showed your own homophobia by assuming that EVERY GAY PERSON is gonna naturally engage in lewd, indecent, publicly s*xual behavior. Way to freaking go,” posted one user.
“Tennessee: You can’t have s*x in public…Gavin Newsom: OH SO YOU CAN’T BE GAY WOW,” posted another.
It’s been rumored that Gavin Newsom will put his name into the running for president in 2024.
But when he utterly embarrasses himself with thoughtless posts on social media, it only axes those rumors.
