The Bidens and Clintons have been thick as thieves for years. But that all just came crashing down.
Because Hillary Clinton blindsided Joe Biden with one stunning betrayal.
Hillary Clinton can’t stand the fact that she lost the 2016 election to someone like Donald Trump.
With that loss, her fate was effectively sealed.
Now she’s trying to take everyone down with her.
Hillary Clinton urged voters to consider President Joe Biden’s age while casting ballots in 2024.
“His age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it,” Clinton said during an event in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.
Biden, who is already the oldest president at 80, would be 86 at the end of a second term. He stated his intention to run for re-election in April.
Concerns have been raised concerning Biden’s fitness to serve due to his tendency to lose his train of thought when speaking and times caught on camera where he has tripped or fallen down.
When Biden went down a flight of stairs during the G7 Summit in Japan, Financial Times editor Edward Luce, who was interviewing Clinton at the time, mentioned one “heart-stopping” example.
“It’s a concern for anyone,” Clinton replied. “We’ve had presidents who had fallen before who were a lot younger, and people didn’t go into heart palpitations.”
While some of Biden’s supporters have defended him against ageism, Biden stated last month that his age does not “register” with him. “I respect them taking a hard look at it — I’d take a hard look at it, as well. I took a hard look at it before I decided to run, and I feel good. I feel excited about the prospects,” Biden added.
Biden’s age has become a point of contention among candidates vying to succeed him in the 2024 election. GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy dubbed Biden’s re-election campaign “elder abuse.”
Former President Donald Trump’s aide, Jason Miller, responded to Clinton’s remarks with a jest. “Sounds like Crooked is warming up in the bullpen!” he tweeted, alluding to one of Trump’s mocking nicknames for Clinton.
Clinton, the wife of former President Bill Clinton, and a former secretary of state and U.S. senator, lost the 2016 presidential election to Trump.
Clinton has rejected the possibility of running for president again in recent years, but she has done so while stating that she expects Biden to run for re-election.
During her talk with Luce, Clinton stated that she believes Biden is “determined” to run and that he has a “good record” that is underappreciated.
“He doesn’t get the credit yet that he deserves for what is happening out in the country in terms of jobs and growth and planning for the future with CHIPS and other stuff,” Clinton said.
“So, I obviously hope he stays very focused and able to compete in the election because I think he can be re-elected, and that’s what we should all hope for.”
