House Republicans force Biden’s FBI Director into the hot seat

Hunter and Joe Biden are under fire for their alleged crimes. Now FBI Director Christopher Wray is in the crosshairs too.

And House Republicans force Biden’s FBI Director into the hot seat.

According to Fox News, FBI Director Christopher Wray will testify before the House Judiciary Committee next month.

Wray will testify in front of several Republican members who have accused him of politicizing the FBI against churches, parents, and political opponents of the Biden administration.

The July 12 hearing comes as House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has subpoenaed Wray for information from him and his agency regarding numerous investigations, and Republicans have called for the FBI to probe President Biden and the Biden family.

Wray is also accused of mishandling an investigation against President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, after the FBI reported Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two tax crimes and one firearms charge after a five-year inquiry. Republicans slammed the “sweetheart” plea deal.

Wray was also nearly put in contempt of Congress by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., for withholding a sensitive dossier alleging Biden was complicit in a bribery conspiracy.

The vote was canceled after Wray agreed to share the document and several related files to the whole committee of nearly 50 lawmakers.

Some Senate Republicans have called on Wray to quit because of how he has run the FBI and his alleged weaponization of the bureau.

“He should’ve resigned a long time ago,” Fox News’ Josh Hawley said.

Republican Ohio Sen. JD Vance agreed, telling Fox News, “Christopher Wray should absolutely resign. What has happened in the last four or five years is the American people have seen that the leadership of the FBI is engaged in political hackery.”

Republican criticism of Wray has spilled over into the Republican presidential primary race in 2024, with some contenders saying they would dismiss Wray.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis promised to fire Wray last month, saying the FBI and Justice Department had “lost their way” and had allowed themselves to be “weaponized” against Americans.

“No, I would not keep Chris Wray as director of the FBI. There’ll be a new one on day one,” DeSantis told Fox News host Trey Gowdy during an appearance on “Fox News Tonight.”

He added, “And I think the DOJ and FBI have lost their way. I think that they’ve been weaponized against Americans who think like me and you. And I think that they become very partisan.”

“As president, you have a responsibility to be involved in holding those agencies accountable, clearing out people who are not doing the job, and making sure that they’re doing the people’s business, and they’re not abusing their authority,” DeSantis also said.

“The American people have lost confidence in the Department of Justice,” Pence told the New York Post.

“And if I’m President of the United States, on day one, we’re going to clean house on the top floor of the Department of Justice and bring in a whole new group of people.”

During a town hall held by “Hannity” in South Carolina on Tuesday, Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., referred to the Justice Department as “weaponized” and vowed to “fire” President Biden, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Wray if elected.
