JD Vance puts ex-MSNBC host in their place with an all out rebuke

Vance isn’t one to go lightly on his opponents. In fact, he’s been known to go scorched earth on them.

And JD Vance put an ex-MSNBC host in their place with an all out rebuke.

Vice President JD Vance didn’t hold back on Thursday when he called out former MSNBC host Joy Reid for her deep-seated disdain toward the very nation that handed her a life of luxury. In a sharp social media post, Vance zeroed in on a video where Reid painted America as a hotbed of racism, based on her parents’ immigrant stories.

Reid, during an interview, shared her family’s background, saying: “My father was from the Congo and my mother was from Guyana. They were the immigrants who came here on purpose and they got the rude awakening. My mother got the rude awakening like, ‘Oh, it’s racist here.’ She was like, ‘They didn’t tell me this was the land of opportunity but not for me.'”

Vance fired back, highlighting how America has showered Reid with success and wealth. He pointed out that despite her thriving career and financial gains, she radiates nothing but bitterness toward the country.

In his post, Vance wrote: “Joy Reid has had such a good life in this country. It’s been overwhelmingly kind and gracious to her. She is far wealthier than most. Yet she oozes with contempt. My honest, non-trolling advice to Joy Reid is that you’d be a much happier person if you showed a little gratitude.”

This clash comes on the heels of MSNBC axing Reid’s show, The ReidOut, back in February. Reports from Newsweek peg her net worth at a cool $4 million, a figure that screams American Dream success for someone who constantly trashes the system.

Newsweek also detailed her hefty paycheck, noting: “Reid was one of MSNBC’s highest-paid hosts, earning $3 million per year for hosting The ReidOut, the Washington Free Beacon reported. However, in late 2024, she and other anchors were offered pay cuts as part of a cost-saving effort at the network, the Ankler reported.”

It’s no secret that Reid built her brand on criticizing America, yet she’s reaped massive rewards from the freedoms and opportunities here. Vance’s call for gratitude hits hard, exposing the hypocrisy of elite media figures who bite the hand that feeds them.

Social media erupted in support of Vance’s take, with everyday Americans piling on to echo his sentiment. One user nailed it perfectly, summing up Reid’s career in a single, brutal line.

That commenter said: “Joy Reid is living proof you can get rich off the American Dream just by whining about how bad the American Dream is. Only in the USA can ungrateful millionaires build their whole brand on hating the country that made them.”

Another chimed in with a pointed observation about Reid’s attitude, saying: “Gratitude is a long ways from her heart.”

This isn’t Reid’s first rodeo stirring up controversy with wild claims. Back in July, she suggested that First Lady Melania Trump might face deportation under tougher immigration policies, a jab that reeked of desperation.

She didn’t stop there, lumping President Donald Trump, Elvis Presley, and others together as “mediocre white men” who supposedly steal from black people. It’s the kind of inflammatory rhetoric that fuels division while ignoring her own privileged perch.

Vance’s post clearly struck a nerve, as Reid lashed out in response. According to the New York Post on Friday, she didn’t bother with a classy comeback.

Instead, Reid shot back: “JD Vance, since you’re paying attention to me: F— you!”

This exchange lays bare the divide between hardworking patriots who cherish America’s promise and media elites who thrive on grievance. Vance, with his roots in Rust Belt America, embodies the fight for those who’ve been overlooked, while Reid represents the elite who are out of touch.

In the end, Vance’s advice to Reid isn’t just personal—it’s a wake-up call for anyone who’s forgotten what makes this country great. A little thankfulness could go a long way in healing the rifts these talking heads keep widening.
