Biden’s presidency is failing. He’s doing anything to stop his ship from sinking.
And now Joe Biden handed Donald Trump a surprise victory that will leave you speechless.
Joe Biden and the Democrats painted former President Trump as an America-hating would-be dictator for years.
But now after years of pretending Trump didn’t know what he was doing, Biden is taking a page right out of Trump’s playbook.
The Biden administration has reinstated a Trump-era immigration rule the day before Title 42 is set to expire, so encouraging a wave of illegal immigration into the United States.
The regulation, which was completed and published in the Federal Register on Wednesday, bars migrants from seeking asylum in the United States if they have not first sought refuge in other nations they have gone through, such as Mexico.
According to CBS News, hundreds of asylum officers were taught in how to implement the rule on Tuesday, just days before Title 42 expired.
The new law, which contradicts President Joe Biden’s campaign promises, comes after the administration has failed to curb historic levels of illegal immigration into the United States for more than two years.
The continuing border crisis is largely expected to deteriorate later this week when Title 42, a health directive permitting border authorities to promptly deport migrants without processing, expires at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.
Biden was one of former President Donald Trump’s most vociferous detractors when he introduced the rule to curb illegal immigration. During the 2020 presidential campaign, Biden used Trump’s immigration policies as a club.
“This is the first president in the history of the United States of America that anybody seeking asylum has to do it in another country,” Biden said during the final debate of the campaign.
“That’s never happened before in America.”
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been scrambling to prepare for the surge, which has already begun days before Title 42 ends.
DHS requested and received 1,500 military personnel from the Pentagon to assist with border administration and free up more border officers for enforcement.
US Customs and Border Protection joined forces with local and state law enforcement to sweep thousands of illegal migrants off the streets of El Paso, Texas, one of the country’s most dangerous cities for illegal immigration.
El Paso Democratic Mayor Oscar Leeser proclaimed a state of emergency in advance. He previously anticipated that if Title 42 is repealed, 15,000 migrants might rush into the city from Ciudad Juarez.
In the weeks running up to Title 42’s expiration, immigration officers have witnessed a steady increase in unlawful migration.
On Monday, Border Patrol chief Raul Ortiz revealed that the agency had nearly 9,000 migrant apprehensions every day and had arrested over 7,000 gotaways, or illegal immigrants who were witnessed entering the country but could not be apprehended.
More than 11,000 migrants were reportedly apprehended crossing the southern border on Tuesday.
