Interviews aren’t the former vice president’s strong suit. She’s constantly embarrassing herself during them.

And Kamala Harris gave on answer during an interview that will make your jaw drop.

Kamala Harris’ Shelved Interview: A Hot Take Too Wild to Air

A never-aired interview with Kamala Harris, recorded in the summer of 2024, was so “confusing and weird” that both the former Democratic presidential candidate and the host of the viral online series “Subway Takes” decided to keep it off the airwaves.

The show, hosted by Kareem Rahma, challenges guests to share their spiciest hot takes, but Harris’ attempt left everyone involved second-guessing its release.

In a revealing TikTok chat with Forbes reporter Steven Bertoni on Monday, Rahma spilled the details of the doomed segment. “Her take was really confusing and weird, not good, and so [we] mutually agreed we shouldn’t publish it,” he shared.

Rahma admitted the interview was so cringe-worthy he worried it could’ve been blamed for Harris’ 2024 election loss.

When Bertoni asked, “Her take was that bad?” Rahma didn’t mince words. “It was really, really bad,” he said. “It didn’t make any sense.”

So, what was the hot take that tanked the interview? Rahma revealed Harris went rogue with a baffling claim: “Bacon as a spice.” This was a far cry from the agreed-upon topic her team had pitched—taking a stand against removing shoes on airplanes.

According to The New York Times, which got hold of the unreleased footage, Harris declared, “Bacon is a spice,” adding, “Think about it, it’s pure flavor,” as if bacon bits were the next big seasoning trend.

Rahma, who is Muslim and doesn’t eat pork, was visibly thrown off. “I don’t know,” he responded, before politely noting bacon wasn’t his thing.

He suggested beef or turkey bacon as a workaround, but when that fell flat, he paused the interview to nudge Harris back to the airplane shoe topic. Instead, after a quick huddle with an adviser, Harris pivoted to a passionate plug for anchovies on pizza.

The sudden shift only ramped up the awkwardness. Rahma, struggling to keep the vibe light, ended the segment with a forced laugh. “Well, I’m 100 percent unsure on both of those,” he said, effectively closing the curtain on the chaotic exchange.

This peek into Harris’ unreleased “Subway Takes” moment reveals a politician aiming for relatable charm but landing in a whirlwind of oddball opinions.

Harris’s Struggle With Being Relatable

It’s no secret that Kamala Harris struggled to seem relatable while on the 2024 campaign trail. She was no better than President Joe Biden when it came to stumbling through interviews.

At times she would expel a fake laugh during interviews that invoked a feeling of cringe for anyone who was listening. Harris’s constant struggles during interviews are likely why she didn’t appear on more podcasts compared to Donald Trump.

Trump was a guest on several major podcasts such as the “Joe Rogan Experience,” “Bussin’ With The Boys,” and “This Past Weekend” with Theo Von. Those unscripted settings were a place where Trump could thrive.

The same couldn’t be said with Kamala Harris and her debacle on “Subway Takes” further proves that.
