Harris will rarely talk to members of the media. But when she does, it’s to those who are full-fledged Leftists
And Kamala Harris teams up with this Leftist media outlet for this insane reason.
Vice President Kamala Harris held an in-depth interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle on Wednesday, marking her first solo sit-down with a major news network since she became the Democratic nominee.
The timing of this interview was particularly interesting, as it follows closely on the heels of Ruhle’s comments during a conversation with comedian Bill Maher, where she defended Harris against criticism that the vice president often avoids giving clear policy answers.
This interview also came at a critical moment, as Harris has recently faced increased scrutiny over her reluctance to provide detailed responses to policy questions.
Ruhle herself was part of a spirited debate last Friday on Maher’s show, where she stepped in to defend the vice president after Maher and New York Times columnist Bret Stephens suggested that Harris needed to be more specific in her public appearances.
“Kamala Harris is not running for perfect. She’s running against Trump. We have two choices,” Ruhle said, pointing out the contrast between Harris and the former president.
She added that while people may not know every answer Harris has to offer, “in 2024, unlike 2016 for a lot of the American people, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is and the kind of threat he is to democracy.”
However, Stephens wasn’t convinced. He noted that the issue many people have with Harris is a fundamental lack of clarity. “Stephanie, the problem that a lot of people have with Kamala is we don’t know her answer to anything, okay?” Stephens remarked, pushing back on the idea that voters should simply accept the choice of one candidate based on the failings of the other.
Ruhle responded by bringing the conversation back to Trump, arguing that no one has a clear sense of his policy positions either.
Yet Stephens, emphasizing his own opposition to Trump, countered with a crucial point: “People also are expected to have some idea of what the program is of the person you’re supposed to vote for! You’re not supposed to say ‘Well, you have to vote for y because x is that and the other.’ Let’s find out a little bit more.”
The conversation turned heated when Stephens referenced previous interviews where Harris seemed to dodge serious questions, instead focusing on lighter topics like her upbringing.
“I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for her to sit down for a real interview as opposed to a puff piece in which she describes her feelings of growing up in Oakland with nice lawns,” he said.
In response, Ruhle retorted, “I would just say to that – when you move to Nirvana, give me your real estate broker’s number and I’ll be your next-door neighbor. We don’t live there!”

Harris has often been criticized for her lack of specifics, and this trend has not gone unnoticed in recent interviews. Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan echoed these sentiments, writing, “This week she couldn’t or wouldn’t answer a single question straight, and people could see it. She is an artless dodger.”
Noonan also emphasized that Harris owes it to the electorate to provide clear answers, saying, “It is wrong that she can’t or won’t address them. It is disrespectful to the electorate.”
Maybe one of these days Kamala Harris will participate in an interview where she’s asked tough questions about her policy proposals and her record.
But let’s not hold our breaths on that one as it’s highly unlikely to happen.
