Leading Democrat blindsided after being targeted by Biden’s DOJ

The Justice Department is out for blood. President Joe Biden has them ready to pounce on anyone regardless of Party affiliation.

And a leading Democrat was blindsided after being targeted by Biden’s DOJ.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has been a menace under President Joe Biden.

They have targeted pro-lifers for the most ridiculous things in an effort to silence them.

Biden has completely weaponized the DOJ to go after his political opponents.

And now even a Democrat is being targeted.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) is expected to be indicted by the DOJ for charges that are not yet known.

Cuellar is a pro-life Democrat and hasn’t been shy with his criticism towards Biden and how he’s handled the crisis at the southern border.

The Texas Rep. said in a statement that he and Imelda, his wife, are “innocent of these allegations.”

He also said that he has acted “consistent with the actions of many of my colleagues and in the interest of the American people.”

According to what a source said to NBC News, Cuellar’s staff have sought out advice on how to handle the incoming charges.

This hasn’t been Cuellar’s first encounter with federal law enforcement. In 2022, he had federal investigators search his home and office in Laredo, Texas.

They were looking at a connection involving a probe that had ties with former Soviet republic of Azerbaijan and several businessmen from the United States.

Cuellar promised to “fully cooperate in any investigation” during that time, and was also a co-chairman of the Congressional Azerbaijan Caucus.

Members of his staff weren’t the only ones to reach out for advice on how to deal with the DOJ’s indictment. Cuellar himself said that he “proactively sought legal advice from the House Ethics Committee, who gave me more than one written opinion, along with an additional opinion from a national law firm.”

The congressman also explained that he and his wife “requested a meeting with the Washington DC prosecutors to explain the facts and they refused to discuss the case with us or to hear our side.”

“Imelda and I have been married for 32 years. On top of being an amazing wife and mother, she’s an accomplished businesswoman with two degrees.”

“She spent her career working with banking, tax, and consulting. The allegation that she is anything but qualified and hard working is both wrong and offensive.”

At the time this article is being written, it’s still unclear what Cuellar is being indicted for.

Could Biden’s DOJ be more inclined to go after him because he’s a pro-life Democrat who isn’t afraid to criticize the president?

It wouldn’t be surprising, to say the least.
