Latest Leftist proposal could sink the economy in epic fashion

The Democrats only seem to suggest policies that hurt America. It’s basically part of their DNA.

And this latest Leftist proposal could sink the economy in epic fashion.

During a debate for a California U.S. Senate seat earlier this week, Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) made one of the most absurd claims the political world has heard in a while.

While debating Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Katie Porter (D-CA), and Steve Garvey, a Republican, Lee proposed that minimum wage should be raised to $50 an hour.

That would mean minimum wage employees would earn over $100,000 a year.

Schiff and Porter have said before that minimum wage should go up to $20 an hour. Garvey has insisted that it not be raised at all.

“In the Bay Area, I believe it was the United Way that came out with a report that very recently $127,000 for a family of four is just barely enough to get by,” Lee explained.

“Another survey very recently: $104,000. For a family of one, barely enough to get by low income because of the affordability crisis.”

“Just do the math! Just do the math! Of course we have national minimum wages that we need to raise to a living raise,” she continued.

“You’re talking about 20, 25 dollars, fine, but I have got to be focused on what California needs and what the affordability factor is when we calculate this wage.”

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) sarcastically said on X (formerly Twitter), that “Why not $500 per hour?” for minimum wage.

Rep. Lee clearly doesn’t understand how the economy works.

If wages are raised that much, then the prices of goods and services will rise as well.

Not only that, but as a former small business owner, wouldn’t Lee realize that small businesses wouldn’t be able to afford to hire staff if they’re supposed to be paying them at least $50 an hour?

But we shouldn’t expect for Democrats to know how the economy works.

Look at how awful it is currently under President Joe Biden.
