Americans are catching on to how awful the mainstream media really is. Their bias is finally being called out.
And this liberal media outlet is on the verge of collapse after this top official steps down.
On Sunday night, ABC News President Kim Godwin officially announced that she was stepping down from her post, according to what sources told the New York Post.
“I have decided to retire from broadcast journalism,” Godwin said in a memo to her staff which the new outlet was able to collect.
“Anyone who’s passionate about what we do knows there’s no other business like it, so this was not an easy or quick decision.”
“But after considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”
Godwin’s stepping down comes at a time when she’s been the subject of criticism for her job performance by her corporate bosses.
The decision to resign also comes in the wake of losing most of her power, according to what the New York Post learned from sources.
Godwin was first hired as the president of ABC News over three years ago. Disney, the owner of ABC News, basically demoted her back in February.
Corporate leaders for Disney also heavily reviewed how Godwin was running the ship, according to CNN.
One of those leaders, Debra OConnell, was stunned with how poorly Godwin handled ABC News’ programs such as “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight,” CNN reported.
“Over the years, hundreds of you have sent emails, texts, and made phone calls that have lifted my heart. In this consequential election year, as we look to the months ahead, the importance of what we do cannot be overstated. Remember, there is joy in journalism,” Godwin said.
“I leave with my head held high and wish the entire team continued success.”
OConnell will now take over for Godwin for the time being, according to CNN.
“Since assuming this role in February, my goal has been – and will continue to be – to provide this team with the means necessary to build on our success and carry on the proud tradition of ABC News into a future full of opportunity and innovation,” OConnell said to staff members.
Mainstream media outlets have been facing all sorts of controversy and turmoil over the years for their Democrat-bias reporting.
American citizens are growing tired of outlets, including ABC News, leaning heavily towards the Left with how they present news stories.
Kim Godwin’s stepping down at ABC News further proves just how chaotic these news networks have become.
Maybe it’s time to bring back some integrity to reporting instead of figuring out the best way to cater to the radical Left.
