Major announcement completely changes the 2024 election

The 2024 presidential election has been thrown for a whirl since Trump’s indictment. But things are heating up even faster now.

Because a major announcement completely changed the 2024 election.

What seemed like a clear-cut field for the 2024 election has been muddied thanks to recent developments.

Joe Biden, who should be the obvious candidate for the Democrat Party seeing as he’s president, refuses to commit to running.

Indeed, many on the Left are calling for him to step aside in favor of someone else – and almost unprecedented show of lack of confidence.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump is champing at the bit to get back into the White House.

But myriad legal problems aren’t the only issue he’s facing.

Many Republicans are throwing their weight behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

And another major Congressman just endorsed DeSantis, despite him not having declared his candidacy.

Rep. Thomas Massie is endorsing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the GOP presidential candidacy in 2024 against ex-President Donald Trump.

Mr. Massie announced his endorsement through Never Back Down PAC, an independent political group working to create the platform for Mr. DeSantis’ prospective presidential run.

“If we make the right choices, America’s best days are in front of us,” said Mr. Massie, Kentucky Republican. “Let’s pick a proven energetic leader who can get us there. Let’s choose Ron DeSantis for president.”

The support came only one day after Mr. Trump appeared in a Manhattan courthouse to enter a not guilty plea to a 34-count felony charge stemming from payments made to conceal his alleged romance with former adult film star Stormy Daniels.

It also represents some political retaliation for Mr. Massie, who sought to deny him reelection in the GOP primary in 2020.

Mr. Trump referred to Mr. Massie as a “third-rate grandstander” at the time for opposing a $2.2 trillion coronavirus relief package during the height of the outbreak. Mr. Trump even called Mr. Massie a “disaster” and asked supporters to vote him “out of the Republican Party.”

Yet, the two appeared to mend their connection after Mr. Trump departed office. Last year, the former president, along with every other Republican member of Kentucky’s House delegation, endorsed Mr. Massie for reelection.

“Congressman Thomas Massie is a conservative warrior,” Mr. Trump said in his endorsement. “An MIT graduate and a first-rate defender of the Constitution, Thomas fights hard to protect your liberties, especially the First and Second Amendments, which are under siege by the radical left.”

Despite Trump’s support, Mr. Massie feels Mr. DeSantis is the superior choice for Republicans in 2024.

“America needs a leader who is decisive, respects the Constitution, understands policy, puts family first, and leads by inspiring,” said the Kentucky lawmaker.

Mr. Massie is the second Republican in the House to back Mr. DeSantis. Last month, Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy endorsed Florida Gov. Rick Scott, saying the next president must have “the courage to chart a new course.”
