Back in the early days of 2021, Joe Biden nominated and pushed through Alejandro Mayorkas as Homeland Security Secretary.
Since then, Mayorkas has allowed a flood of six million illegal immigrants to storm across the border unchecked.
His handling of one of the most important security situations facing our country is a major reason that many in Congress are calling for his impeachment.
On Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) introduced impeachment articles against Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, making him her fourth impeachment victim this week.

Greene alleged Mayorkas violated the Secure Fence Act of 2006 by admitting “border crossers, terrorists, human traffickers, drugs, and other contraband” into the United States.
According to the Secure Fence Act, the Department of Homeland Security must maintain operational control of the border.
“Since assuming office, Secretary Mayorkas has aided and abetted the complete invasion of our country by deliberately flooding our nation with drugs, terrorists, and illegal aliens,” Greene’s office claimed in a press release.
“He stated under oath that we have operational control of our borders, while also under oath, he stated that no one has ever achieved operational control of the border. He lied to the American people, he lied under oath, and he has blatantly violated his oath of office.”
Greene reported that six million illegal immigrants entered the United States during Mayorkas’ tenure in President Joe Biden’s administration, and that a record amount of fentanyl, reaching around 40,000 pounds, was recovered at the border.
Greene further said that Mayorkas’ “catch-and-release” practices allowed migrants to enter the country without a robust enforcement system in place to ensure they are processed by US courts.
She further stated that the secretary opened a gap in the border wall for smugglers by removing Border Patrol agents from the wall and directing them to process, care for, and transport illegal immigrants.
Greene has also called for Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves to be impeached.
Calls for Mayorkas’ impeachment have grown recently among conservative senators, particularly since the elimination of the pandemic-era program Title 42.
Senators Roger Marshall (R-KS), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Ted Budd (R-NC), and John Hoeven (R-ND) have all called for Mayorkas’ impeachment for the border issue, describing his performance a “derelict of duty.”
“This is absolutely a disaster and humanitarian crisis,” Marshall declared last week after visiting the border, according to the Daily Mail.
“The number one threat to our national security is right here in southern Texas all the way to Arizona.”
