Being House Speaker has it’s challenges. New enemies are created just for possessing the gavel.

And Mike Johnson just got betrayed by his own party in this revolting way.

Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) has experienced quite a whirlwind since winning the speakership in late October.

Democrats have found every which way to attack him by claiming he’s a MAGA extremist.

Republicans have praised the new speaker for his strong conservative beliefs, but not all members of the party are on board with Johnson.

The Republican Accountability Project specifically, has moved forward with attack ads targeting House Speaker Johnson.

The ad campaign is worth six figures and claims that Johnson is a “danger to our democracy” over his push to overturn 2020 presidential election results.

“Republican Mike Johnson just became Speaker of the House. But he’s the last person who should be leading Congress,” the Republican Accountability Project’s ad says.

“After Donald Trump lost the election, Johnson started pushing Trump’s ‘Big Lie,’ pressuring the Supreme Court to overturn the will of voters in four states. And after the January 6 insurrection, Johnson still refused to certify the election results in Arizona and Pennsylvania.”

“Trump wanted to seal your vote. Speaker Johnson helped him. Today’s GOP: A danger to our democracy,” the ad concludes.

This advertisement will be run in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona, which are the states where Johnson wanted the 2020 election results overturned.

The ads will also run during Fox News prime time shows, such as Jesse Watters Primetime, Hannity, Gutfeld, and Ingraham Angle.

By using the “danger to our democracy” line, this Republican group may as well be run by Democrats, since that line is their favorite attack against the Right.

Who knows if the ads will accomplish their goal of painting Mike Johnson as an extremist, but it will certainly further show why the Republican Accountability Project is basically a RINO group who wouldn’t mind if Republicans lose big in elections.

In today’s political arena, if a politician holds strong conservative views like Speaker Johnson does, they’re viewed as an alt-Right extremist who wants to destroy America and democracy all altogether.

Of course, anyone with half a brain knows that’s not the truth, but it isn’t stopping the Left and RINOs from spouting those sort of lies.

It’s hard enough that Mike Johnson has to deal with Democrats coming at his throat constantly, but now he has to deal with disgruntled Republicans who are frustrated that he’s not a clone of Mitt Romney or John McCain.
