The situation in Iran continues to be complicated. Most Americans just want it to end already.

And a Republican senator revealed that failure in Iran is imminent if this one thing occurs.

On Sunday’s “Face the Nation,” Senator Lindsey Graham laid out a stark warning about the regime in Tehran.

The veteran South Carolina Republican made clear that any diplomatic push with Iran is headed for failure. This isn’t some vague prediction — it’s a realistic assessment from a key voice in the Senate who just spent extensive time with President Trump.

Graham explained the current approach without illusions. He acknowledged problems with the latest agreement but stressed the value of testing options before tougher measures.

Yet he left no doubt about the likely outcome.

“We’re not giving any money to Iran that can change the course of history to try diplomacy. Is the MOU problematic? Yeah. I’d rather try diplomacy than take it off the table. The money Iran gets is not going to change the future of Iran. It’s not enough to reconstruct the country,” Graham stated.

“If you don’t have a diplomatic path through the MOU, then you have to go to war or some other form of coercion. Let’s try this. Let’s try a diplomatic solution. I think it’s going to fail.”

This comes after years of failed policies that emboldened the mullahs. Past administrations poured resources into deals that only funded terror and nuclear ambitions.

Graham then shifted to what comes next under President Trump’s leadership. His comments reveal a decisive strategy focused on dominance rather than endless negotiations.

The United States will no longer tolerate threats to global energy routes or attacks on allies.

“The United States will control the Strait of Hormuz. We’ll charge a fee for all those who go three through to pay for the operation,” Graham continued.

This move would secure a critical chokepoint for oil shipments and generate revenue to support the effort — pure leverage where it counts.

Such control sends a clear message: America will protect its interests and those of its partners without apology. No more letting adversaries dictate terms through proxies and disruption.

Graham highlighted the historic potential for peace in the region through Trump’s proven framework.

“And we’re going to expand the Abraham Accords and calendar year 2026. We’re going to get Saudi Arabia to join the Abraham Accords, which is the biggest change in 5000 years in the Middle East,” he said.

Bringing Saudi Arabia into the fold would reshape alliances across the Middle East. It builds on the successes already achieved under Trump’s first term, isolating Iran further and creating a united front of nations committed to stability and prosperity instead of jihadist expansion.

The senator also delivered a direct warning to the Iranian regime. If they challenge American resolve in the Strait, the response will be overwhelming.
