Pelosi’s hatred towards the GOP has recently reached new heights. She hasn’t minced words with how she really feels about them.
And Republicans are red with rage after what Nancy Pelosi just called them.
In a recent interview, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sparked debate by suggesting that around 30% of Republican voters would never support a Democratic candidate due to views she characterized as s*xist, racist, or homophobic. Her remarks, made during a discussion at the Texas Tribune Festival, echo past controversial statements by prominent political figures, such as Hillary Clinton’s “basket of deplorables” comment about Trump supporters and Mitt Romney’s “47%” remark about Obama voters.
Pelosi explained that these voters, who she claims hold different attitudes toward women, people of color, and the LGBTQ community, form a significant portion of the Republican base. “There are people who will never be, shall we say, inclined to support Democrats because of — they just have a different orientation toward women, people of color, LGBTQ, you know, they just are not ever going to be there,” Pelosi stated. She estimated that this represents “about 30%” of Republican voters.
In addition to critiquing certain GOP voters, Pelosi suggested that wealthy individuals backing the Republican Party are driven by a desire to avoid taxes and environmental regulations.
“Then you have very, very rich people who do not really want to pay taxes or have any regulation of clean air, clean water, any of that,” she explained. While Pelosi acknowledged that the number of ultra-wealthy individuals is relatively small, she pointed out their substantial financial influence on political campaigns.
Interestingly, Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate for president in 2024, has outpaced Donald Trump in fundraising efforts. In August, Harris raised $361 million compared to Trump’s $130 million.
Despite her divisive comments on Republican voters, Pelosi urged Democrats to approach their political opponents with “understanding” and respect, acknowledging the fears some have about globalization and innovation. “They’re fearful of innovation,” Pelosi said, referring to the shifting economic landscape that has left many workers uneasy.
Pelosi also didn’t shy away from criticizing Donald Trump either, calling him a skilled “snake-oil salesman.” Her criticism of Trump follows a pattern seen in the 2016 election cycle when Hillary Clinton stirred controversy by labeling half of Trump’s supporters as a “basket of deplorables,” and Romney faced backlash for his comments about 47% of voters being dependent on government.
As the 2024 election approaches, Pelosi remains confident that Trump, who has already been impeached twice, will face another defeat.
Her comments come at a time when speculation continues to swirl about her involvement in President Joe Biden’s decision to step aside, allowing Kamala Harris to become the Democratic frontrunner. Pelosi clarified that while she has not spoken with Biden recently, her concerns were more about the direction of the campaign rather than his candidacy.
Pelosi concluded by praising Biden as “patriotic,” “selfless,” and “the most consequential president of modern times,” while noting that supporting Harris in the upcoming election is also about preserving his legacy.
Pelosi’s Comments; A Failed Election Strategy For The Left
The radical Left famously lost the 2016 presidential election in part due to divisive comments made by Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her allies.
They were constantly calling Donald Trump and his supporters racists and things similar to what Nancy Pelosi said in her recent comments about Republicans.
American voters who were on the fence but were considering voting for Trump in the election that year were sick and tired of being labeled as a racist or a “deplorable” simply because they were thinking of casting their ballot for Trump.
They knew that they couldn’t support Clinton and the Left because of the hateful name-calling and divisiveness that they were spewing.
Democrats claim they’re for the average, everyday American, but their spiteful rhetoric suggests otherwise.
And if they’re not careful, they’re going to sway independent voters towards Donald Trump yet again this election cycle.
