The campaign trail is heating up for the 2024 presidential election. But this candidate got more than they bargained for.
And security rushed in after this presidential candidate was attacked by protestors.
As the countdown to November continues, presidential hopefuls are ramping up their campaigns through rallies and other various events.
Florida Governor and Republican candidate for president, Ron DeSantis, is working to accumulate as many votes as possible ahead of primary voting.
Last Thursday evening, he was working to attract more voters by holding an event at a restaurant in Ames, Iowa.
During the event, DeSantis was heckled by three protestors who were allegedly apart of the Sunrise Movement.
They began shouting at him and accusing him of receiving money from fossil fuel companies.
“Excuse me, hold on. Excuse me, I’m doing this,” DeSantis yelled back at them.
“I know you have an agenda. Stop!”
He then told the audience at the event that the hecklers want everyone to “pay more for gas.”
“We’re not going to let people like that win,” DeSantis said.
Then, another protestor ran onto the stage while holding a banner that said, “DESANTIS: CLIMATE CRIMINAL.”
“Ron DeSantis is a climate criminal!” the protestor shouted while holding up the banner.

The man was quickly tackled and apprehended by security.
“That’s exhibit A” for “what’s wrong with the college system,” Gov. DeSantis said, causing cheers to erupt from the crowd.
“If you’re gonna do that, like he was like stumbling around to get his flag out. Like he telegraphed that a mile away,” he said, criticizing the protestor.
Thankfully no one was hurt during the incident.
And hopefully as candidates continue these events, they don’t have to encounter anymore of these brainless protestors.
