Nobody likes the current president. It doesn’t matter if you’re Democrat or Republican.
And now the Democrat Party just waved the white flag of surrender and now Biden is sweating.
According to a POLITICO report published Tuesday morning, many Democrats are becoming increasingly concerned that President Joe Biden will lose to former President Donald Trump in November.
The article’s authors, Christopher Cadelago, Sally Goldenberg, and Elena Schneider, stated that a “pervasive sense of fear has settled in at the highest levels of the Democratic Party over President Joe Biden’s reelection prospects.”
“[N]early five months from the election, anxiety has morphed into palpable trepidation, according to more than a dozen party leaders and operatives,” the authors added.
They explained that “the gap between what Democrats will say on TV or in print, and what they’ll text their friends, has only grown as worries have surged about Biden’s prospects.”
An anonymous Democratic operative described a “freakout” within the Biden campaign.
This “freakout,” he claims, is largely due to Biden continuously trailing Trump in polls.
The operative told POLITICO that his fellow Democrats are more concerned with Biden losing to Trump than with losing to a generic Republican.
“This isn’t, ‘Oh my God, Mitt Romney might become president,’” he told the publication. “It’s ‘Oh my God, the democracy might end.’”
Furthermore, the POLITICO piece described a list produced by a Democratic strategist “of nearly two dozen reasons why Biden could lose.” The adviser distributed the list to the party’s key funders.
The list includes explanations “ranging from immigration and high inflation to [Biden’s] age, the unpopularity of Vice President Kamala Harris, and the presence of third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
The advisor who made the list added: “The list of why we ‘could’ win is so small I don’t even need to keep the list on my phone.”
POLITICO also quoted senior Democratic strategist Pete Giangreco, who admitted that Biden’s record as president is unpopular with American voters when compared to Trump’s.
“If the frame of this race is, ‘What was better, the 3.5 years under Biden or four years under Trump,’ we lose that every day of the week and twice on Sunday,” Giangreco said.
According to recent polling, if the presidential election were held today, Donald Trump would most certainly win.
A series of New York Times/Siena surveys issued earlier this month revealed that the former president was leading Biden by sizable points in numerous critical battleground states.
Most notably, the poll found that Trump had a remarkable 12-point edge among registered voters in Nevada, which Biden won four years ago.
According to CatholicVote, the same study revealed that “nearly one in five registered voters from six swing states, including many Catholics, did not vote in the 2020 presidential election.”
