The DOJ is on high alert after what this Republican candidate threatened to do

The Department of Justice under Joe Biden has been a disaster. But now they may be on the brink of collapse.

And the DOJ is on high alert after what this Republican candidate threatened to do.

Under President Joe Biden, the Department of Justice has certainly been guilty of government overreach.

One notable case occurred last year when armed FBI agents arrested pro-life activist, Mark Houck in front of his family for federal charges that he was later acquitted of.

The Justice Department’s habit of going after people whom they view as political enemies doesn’t stop there.

Former President Donald Trump can expound firsthand the amount of times he’s been the target of the DOJ over the last few years.

Trump is currently facing indictments over his alleged involvement in attempting to overturn the 2020 election and allegedly taking classified documents from the White House.

Last year, the former President’s estate in Florida, Mar-a-lago was raided by the FBI in an unprecedented move.

Many Republicans view this as the DOJ going on a political witch hunt to destroy Donald Trump before he has a chance to potentially win a second presidential term in 2024.

Former Vice President and current Republican candidate for president, Mike Pence, also holds the view that the Justice Department is corrupt.

In a townhall event in Iowa, which was hosted by Newsmax, the former Trump running mate, mentioned the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago and Trump’s ability to hold his own in court.

Pence also made a promise to the DOJ that will have them shaking in their boots.

And I’m sure he’ll [Trump] continue to but, look, I would like to see these issues resolved by voters, by the American people, and if I’m president of the United States, I promise you we’re going to clean the house of the entire top floor of the Justice Department on day one, and we’re going to install not just an attorney general and a director of FBI, but men and women of integrity at the highest levels of the Justice Department who people on both sides of the aisle will recognize are committed to the application and enforcement of the law without fear or favor or partisanship

Cleaning house in the DOJ is something the majority of Americans would support.

It’s also a stance that Mike Pence is hoping will boost him in the polls.

The latest FiveThirtyEight national Republican primary poll, shows Pence sitting in 5th place at 4.6%.

That’s nearly 53 points behind his former running mate and current front-runner, Donald Trump.

And while Trump supporters have turned their backs on Pence after they felt he betrayed the former President by certifying the results of the 2020 election, they can at least agree on the issue that the DOJ is in need of a massive overhaul.

No matter who the Republican nominee will be, they better be prepared to take on the Department of Justice the way Mike Pence has suggested.
