Working in politics can be a stressful job. But the stress might have proven too much for this politician.
And this top Republican suffered a medical emergency on live television.
Despite being on opposite parties, Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell have one thing in common…they are at least 80 years old.
Senate Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY) certainly showed his age during a press conference on Wednesday.
When asked a question, the Senator briefly acknowledged it and then seemed to space out and stare off into the distance.
Eventually, his aide tried to come to his rescue and repeated the question, but McConnell continued to stay frozen.
He eventually snapped out of the stroke-like trance he was in before answering a few more questions.

Unfortunately, the scene looked like something you’d see in a nursing home.
And the irony of the situation was that the question he was asked, was about whether or not he would run for reelection in 2026.
According to one of Mitch McConnell’s aides, he was simply feeling “lightheaded” which caused him to stop speaking.
“Leader McConnell felt momentarily lightheaded and paused during his press conference today,” the aide said.

Anyone who watches that video knows there’s more to the story than that.
Just a month ago, he experienced a similar medical scare during a Senate Republican press conference.

McConnell also suffered a concussion earlier in the year from a fall that sent him to the hospital and some are wondering if that is playing a role with his health issues.
It’s long past time for the Senator to retire.
But for now, Mitch McConnell will have to convince the American people that he’s physically and mentally fit to serve, something he hasn’t been able to do as of late.
