President Trump’s administration won’t let the Left get in their way. They’re accomplishing their agenda no matter what.
And this Trump border official has come out swinging against this radical Leftist with a warning they can’t ignore.
Trump’s Border Czar Clashes with NYC Mayoral Hopeful Over ICE Policies
Tom Homan, President Trump’s newly appointed border czar, didn’t hold back in his response to New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s bold campaign pledge to “kick the fascist ICE out of New York City.” The sharp exchange, which unfolded on Fox Business’ “Kudlow,” highlights a growing tension between federal immigration priorities and local sanctuary city policies.
Homan, tasked with leading Trump’s immigration enforcement efforts, fired back at Mamdani just one day after the 33-year-old Queens assemblyman celebrated a surprising victory in the NYC Democratic primary, defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Mamdani has positioned himself as a fierce opponent of Trump’s agenda, vowing to “Trump-proof” New York City by shielding its residents from federal immigration actions. His campaign website claims Trump has “deployed ICE agents to pluck New Yorkers from their families.” Homan dismissed Mamdani’s vow with a blunt, “Good luck with that.”
Speaking with host Larry Kudlow, Homan emphasized the supremacy of federal law, stating, “Federal law trumps him every day, every hour of every minute.” He doubled down on plans to intensify ICE operations in New York City, specifically targeting sanctuary cities like NYC that, in his view, release “public safety threats and national security threats back to the street.”
Homan made it clear that the Trump administration intends to “double up and triple up” on enforcement in such areas, contrasting them with states like Florida, where local sheriffs cooperate with federal agents.
Homan also announced plans to significantly ramp up ICE’s presence in New York, including a tenfold increase in worksite enforcement. “We’re going to send more agents to the neighborhood,” he warned, signaling a direct challenge to Mamdani’s vision for the city.

In a nod to current Mayor Eric Adams, Homan praised the mayor’s efforts to support ICE operations, calling him a “law-and-order mayor” who wants to collaborate with federal agents on addressing “significant public safety threats.”
Homan also highlighted Adams’ interest in tackling the trafficking of 300,000 missing children in the U.S., though he noted the mayor’s hands are “tied in many ways” due to local constraints. Adams, who is running as an independent, stands in contrast to Mamdani’s anti-ICE stance.
Mamdani, a Uganda-born assemblyman from Astoria, Queens, has made his opposition to ICE a cornerstone of his campaign.
Earlier this year, on March 12, he confronted Homan in the state capitol, shouting at the border czar in a publicized stunt to protest ICE’s arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia University student and anti-Israel activist detained for falsifying visa documents. State troopers removed Mamdani from the scene, but he faced no charges.

Mamdani calls on voters to back him as a bulwark against Trump’s policies, which he claims are “tearing at the fabric of New York City in his second term.”
On his campaign website, he promises to protect immigrant communities by “getting ICE out of all City facilities and ending any cooperation, increasing legal support, and protecting all personal data,” while fighting for a city where “everyone can afford a dignified life.”
As the 2025 mayoral race heats up, the clash between Homan’s federal enforcement priorities and Mamdani’s sanctuary city vision sets the stage for a high-stakes battle over New York City’s future.
