This administration is moving quickly. And there’s nothing the Left can do to stop it.
And now Trump critics were hit with a massive loss they’ll never recover from.
President Trump has achieved yet another triumph in elevating America’s symbols of power and prestige, as the Commission of Fine Arts unanimously greenlit his visionary East Wing Modernization project, including a magnificent new state ballroom.
Despite predictable pushback from liberal critics and over 2,000 mostly negative public comments, Trump’s bold initiative to modernize the White House demonstrates his unmatched commitment to making the nation’s executive residence a true beacon of excellence, free from outdated constraints and partisan obstruction.
CFA’s Decisive Approval Celebrates Trump’s Bold Initiative
In a resounding show of support, the Trump-appointed Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) voted unanimously on February 19, 2026, to approve the final designs for the White House East Wing Modernization, fast-tracking the process under Chairman Rodney Mims Cook Jr.’s leadership.
Cook praised the President’s hands-on approach, stating, “Our sitting president has actually designed a very beautiful structure. The United States just should not be entertaining the world in tents. It is really outrageous that we do that, and no president has really stepped up to the plate to require that be corrected, until President Trump.” CFA Secretary Thomas Luebke acknowledged the high volume of public input, noting, “In two decades of casework here, I’ve never seen as much public engagement on this. We’ve literally gotten, in the past week or so, more than 2,000 various messages. The vast, vast majority is negative, in general.”
He summarized criticisms including concerns over “illegal” demolition, scale, historic preservation, funding transparency, and democratic principles, with one comment highlighting, “The ballroom seems to shout power.”
Yet, CFA Commissioner Chamberlain Harris, Trump’s deputy director of Oval Office operations, captured the project’s aspirational spirit: “This is sort of, like, the greatest country in the world, the greatest house in the world and we want it to be sort of the greatest ballroom in the world.” This approval builds on Trump’s history of decisive action, contrasting with past presidents like Harry Truman, who faced CFA opposition to his balcony addition and responded by reshaping the commission.
Innovative Design Elevates White House Legacy Under Trump
Architect Shalom Baranes, renowned for his Pentagon renovation post-9/11, leads the 89,000-square-foot project featuring a stunning 22,000-square-foot ballroom rising 40 feet high, designed to harmonize with the White House’s Federal-era Neoclassical style.
Baranes explained refinements, saying, “We generally try to rationalize things and make them simpler in terms of their reading and I think we’ve been able to accomplish that here.”
Updates include retaining a triangular pediment on the east portico while removing it from the south, expanding arched windows from eight to nine on the ballroom’s western level, and converting first-floor windows into doorways opening to a revitalized East Wing garden.
This new garden replaces the Jacqueline Kennedy Garden, incorporating relocated trees, Mount Vernon pavers, and the original fountain, with the East Colonnade linking via a grand staircase and stone-paved paths.
The $400 million privately funded endeavor, set for aboveground construction in April 2026, awaits a final National Capital Planning Commission vote on March 5, 2026, promising to end the embarrassment of hosting world leaders in tents and showcase Trump’s flair for grand, practical improvements.
Trump Team Defends Project Against Left-Wing Attacks
Facing baseless accusations from Democrats, the administration has staunchly defended the project, with Attorney General Pam Bondi posting on X on December 16, 2025: “Today @TheJusticeDept attorneys defeated an attempt to stop President Trump’s totally lawful East Wing Modernization and State Ballroom Project. President Trump has faced countless bad-faith left-wing legal attacks — this was no different. We will continue defending the…” Communications Director Steven Cheung earlier dismissed critics on October 22, 2025, stating, “The National Trust for Historic Preservation (@SavingPlaces) is run by a bunch of loser Democrats and liberal donors who are playing political games.”
Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s February 18, 2026, letter to the National Park Service probing “corruption” in donations exemplifies the ongoing partisan sabotage.
Trump’s strategic appointments in January 2026, including architects James McCreary II and Cook, ensured the CFA aligned with his vision, following his October 2025 dismissal of Biden-era holdovers and a court-mandated consultation process from a December 2025 lawsuit.
This milestone underscores President Trump’s relentless drive to restore grandeur to American institutions, brushing aside detractors to deliver lasting enhancements for the nation.
