President Trump issued a sharp warning about the radical agenda of Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, the Democrat candidate for Michigan’s Senate seat.
Trump noted that he and El-Sayed share one rare point of agreement: both want to end the Senate filibuster.
Yet the president framed that agreement as a dangerous red flag for Republicans if Democrats move first.
“Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants to terminate the Filibuster, and so do I — At least we have something in common!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump went further in another post, framing El-Sayed’s obsession with k*lling the filibuster as a direct threat to the Republican Party and the country. He urged Republicans to pay close attention.
“For our Great Republican Senators, friends of mine ‘all,’ please be advised that the Communist Dumocrat Senate Candidate from Michigan, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, is touting, as perhaps his single most important point, the Termination of the Filibuster,” Trump’s post stated.
The message was clear: this is not some minor policy preference.
For El-Sayed and the left, wiping out the filibuster stands as a top priority, a tool they intend to use the moment they gain power.
The filibuster has long served as a basic check against one-party rule in the Senate.
It forces debate and requires more than a bare majority for major legislation.
Democrats have spent years attacking it whenever they hold the gavel, and El-Sayed’s campaign makes that goal explicit.
Trump’s warning carries extra weight. He has argued that if Democrats abolish the filibuster first, they will lock in permanent advantages that could prevent any future Republican from reclaiming the White House.
In his words, the change would leave him “the last Republican President!”
