Donald Trump isn’t holding back. He’s not letting the Democrat controlled media get away with their deceit this time.
And Trump launches an all out assault on this Leftist news outlet for election lies.
Former President Donald Trump launched a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS on Thursday, targeting the network’s handling of an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump’s legal team contends that the interview, aired as part of CBS’s “60 Minutes” program, was “deceptively” edited to favor Harris and undermine Trump’s 2024 campaign.
The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that CBS misled voters by broadcasting two different answers from Harris regarding the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
According to the filing, the network aired Harris’s initial, less direct response during a “Face the Nation” preview on October 6, only to air a more polished statement during the full interview the next day.
In the preview, Harris commented, “Well, Bill … the work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”
The full “60 Minutes” interview, however, presented a different statement from Harris: “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”
This shift, Trump’s team argues, was calculated to improve Harris’s image by providing clarity her earlier answer allegedly lacked.
Trump’s attorneys claim that CBS’s editorial choices were politically motivated and amounted to “malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion.”
They argue the editing was designed to “confuse, deceive, and mislead the public,” framing Harris more favorably while damaging Trump’s standing with voters just before Election Day.
CBS previously acknowledged trimming Harris’s initial response for brevity, insisting that the goal was to maximize the depth of coverage in the wide-ranging interview.
The network maintains it strives to ensure clarity and accuracy in its edits across all interviews, not just those with politicians.
A CBS spokesperson called the lawsuit “completely without merit” and stated, “60 MINUTES fairly presented the Interview to inform the viewing audience, and not to mislead it.”
Last week, Trump threatened legal action, demanding the network release the unedited transcript of Harris’s interview.
He claims CBS and “60 Minutes” producers intentionally “misled the public by broadcasting and posting a carefully, deceptively edited interview,” which he asserts was done to cast doubt on Harris’s “abilities, intelligence, and appeal.”
CBS has denied any partisan bias, insisting the edits were not made to advantage Harris or the Democratic Party.
Trump, however, has called the edited responses “the Biggest Scandal in Broadcast History!” and seeks a jury trial as well as $10 billion in damages, citing Texas law on deceptive business practices.
Trump has yet to sit down for an interview with “60 Minutes,” but likely won’t at this point based off their poor track record of covering for Kamala Harris.
