Nancy Pelosi is one of the most disliked politicians in Washington. What she’s done now is a prime example of why.
Because what Nancy Pelosi just did to a first responder is absolutely disgusting.
After being found guilty of felony counts of civil disorder and disruption of an official procedure, a former Arkansas firefighter who planted his feet on Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) desk on January 6, 2021, was sentenced to more than four years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper sentenced Richard “Bigo” Barnett to 54 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a $2,000 fine.
Theft of government property, disorderly behavior with a lethal or dangerous weapon in a restricted building or grounds, and marching or demonstrating in a capitol building were additional accusations.
Barnett, 62, was charged on January 6 of bringing a stun gun without batteries into the Capitol.
Cooper stated at the sentencing, “All the folks who follow ‘Bigo’ need to know the actions of January 6 cannot be repeated without some serious repercussions.” Barnett claimed that he put his feet up on Pelosi’s desk because the photographers ordered him to “act natural.” This shot instantly went viral and made him famous.
Barnett claimed that he had written a note and left it on Pelosi’s desk before he left the office.
“I did not steal it,” Barnett said, holding a document with Pelosi’s letterhead on it. “I bled on it because they were macing me and I couldn’t f***ing see so I figured I am in her office. I got blood on her office. I put a quarter on her desk even though she ain’t f***ing worth it. And I left a note on her desk that says, ‘Nancy, Bigo was here you b***.’”
Barnett’s lawyers later argued that he had written something a little less filthy to describe Pelosi, which sparked some controversy. Barnett expressed regret to the judge for his behavior.
He claimed that he was politely knocking on the door of Pelosi’s office when he was pushed in by other protesters. It was a story he knew no one would buy – “I’ll probably be telling them this is what happened all the way to the D.C. jail,” he said.

“I’ve made mistakes. I have made mistakes. And I regret those mistakes. I’ve gotten confused in my testimony. I went through hell up there. The officers went through hell up there. It was a horrible, horrible day,” he said.
Barnett’s defense attorney, Joseph D. McBride, claimed his client was being discriminated against.
“They have literally made a federal case out of an act of stupidity that could have been dispensed with a ticket and a fine,” he remarked.
No doubt this man was given the full treatment in a post January 6, 2021 world.
It’s also likely the Pelosi team made sure he get treated a little more harshly deserved because that’s how Democrats act.
Yes, Barnett acted foolishly and shouldn’t have done what he did. But is it deserving of throwing him in prison for years and changing his life forever with a felony being attached to his name?
We’ll leave you to decide what you think about that.
