The mainstream media hasn’t been to kind to Republicans. Their bias is clearly towards members of the Left.
And Ron DeSantis blows up on NBC News anchor during a heated exchange.
From the early stages of the Republican primary process, the media has tried to create a bitter rivalry between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
In DeSantis’ case, media outlets try to bait him into responding to criticisms from Trump and their “rivalry” instead of talking about matters of policy.
This occurred yet again on an episode of NBC’s Meet The Press, where host Kristen Welker tried to get DeSantis to discuss and admonish comments made by Trump regarding his political enemies.
DeSantis tried to ignore that line of questioning and explained why he was running for president.
“Well, I think even beyond that, the issue is – is why are you running? Are you running for your personal issues? Are you running for the American people’s issues? And I’m running for the American people’s issues,” DeSantis told Welker.
“And now, part of that is the government is out of control. We have seen weaponization of agencies, like the DOJ, and the FBI, and the IRS. I am going to end that weaponization. But that’s not because I’m doing it for me; it’s because I’m doing it for the people that have been under the thumb of these agencies.”
Welker then tried to get Governor DeSantis to criticize Trump for his use of the word “vermin” when referring to his political opponents. She did this five times as a matter of fact.
“I don’t use the term. But what I don’t do is play the media’s game, where I’m asked to referee other people,” DeSantis shot back.
“He’s responsible for his words. He’s responsible for his conduct. I’m responsible for mine. But I will tell you, more important than the choice of words is: Why are you running? If he’s running for personal retribution, that is not going to lead to what we need as a country.”
“You’ve got to be running for the American people and their issues, not about your own personal issues,” the Florida governor added.
The liberal media wants to create an all-out feud between Trump and DeSantis in order to distract voters from the important issues at hand.
And rightfully so, DeSantis has called them out on it.
Instead of playing their game, he wants to focus on the American people and how to better their lives after they’ve had to endure the destructive policies of the Biden administration.
“I am focused on the folks. I am focused on what they want to see done for this country in a positive direction,” Governor DeSantis continued on Meet The Press.
“I’m the vessel, but ultimately, it’s not about me.”
