Candidates are fighting tooth and nail to win the presidency next November. But one candidate just got a massive leg up on the competition.
And a major 2024 presidential endorsement was announced that will change the entire race.
The new calendar year has finally arrived.
That means that the 2024 presidential election is this year and candidates are working harder than ever to try and secure the votes of Americans.
But one candidate is about to get a major boost in momentum after this endorsement was announced.
Former President Donald Trump was given an endorsement from U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) on Tuesday.
The support from Scalise comes only two weeks before the Iowa caucuses.
“When Donald Trump was President, American workers and families were thriving,” Scalise told Fox News in a statement.
“In this race, there is one man who has a proven track record of being able to save our country and get us back on track: Donald Trump. He has done it once before, and I know he will do it again.”
Scalise picked a safe choice in Trump, as he is expected to win the Republican nomination rather handily according to many polls.
“I am proud to endorse Donald Trump for president in 2024, and I look forward to working with President Trump and a Republican House and Senate to fight for those families who are struggling under the weight of Biden’s failed policies,” the congressman said in a post on X that announced the endorsement.

Scalise touted Trump’s record on issues regarding foreign policy, the economy, and illegal immigration.
He compared the former president’s record to Biden’s on the same issues, and came to the conclusion that another four years of Donald Trump would greatly benefit America.
Trump can now boast the endorsement of three of the top four Republicans in the U.S. House.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and now House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) make up the three Republican representatives.
Rep. Scalise’s endorsement is now the 94th congressman to offer their full support behind the former president.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has endorsements from five congressmen and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley just has one endorsement from a U.S. House member.
Donald Trump is leading the way in practically every category this election cycle among his fellow Republican candidates. It’s looking like nothing will stop him.
