The Republican National Committee is gearing up to help the GOP take down Biden and the Left this fall. But that goal may be hitting a major roadblock soon.
Because the RNC has just provided a sobering revelation about Trump’s potential prison sentence.
Lara Trump, a co-chair for the Republican National Committee (RNC), gave an interview on Real America’s Voice on Wednesday, where she provided an update on former President Donald Trump and his potential jail sentencing.
Several weeks ago, Trump was handed down a guilty verdict at the conclusion of his sham hush money trial in New York.
His sentencing is scheduled for July 11 which is just four days before the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The former president could be facing time in prison as a result of the sentencing.
Lara Trump, who’s also the daughter-in-law of Donald Trump, explained that him being sent to jail won’t stop him from being nominated as the GOP nominee at the convention.
“Here’s the bottom line. It doesn’t matter whether Donald Trump is in Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago, or anywhere else they may try to put him,” she said during her Real America’s Voice interview.
“On the day that we, as the Republican Party, will be nominating him as our official candidate and our official nominee for president, he will accept that no matter where he is.”
“He will go on to be our candidate all the way to Nov. 5, when he then is reelected as our 47th president.”

And while many legal experts don’t believe that Donald Trump will be hit with a prison sentence, Republicans argue that such a sentence would be good for the former president’s election chances.
“I think the Democrat Party better be very cautious because if the [past] sitting president of the United States can’t attend the convention in person, they are essentially electing Donald Trump as president,” Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI) stated to the Washington Examiner.
Lara Trump also added that the guilty verdict overall has been beneficial for the Trump campaign, particularly because of the high fundraising numbers it’s been able to draw in since the verdict came down.
“I think everybody can only see it’s been a positive for him. People in this country see what’s going on with this. They see how third-world and communist it is, and they do not want to see this as the future of America,” she explained.
The verdict is still expected to be appealed by the former president.
But even so, the polls still show Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden in many key battleground states.
So despite the guilty conviction, the Trump campaign hasn’t missed a beat.
