Donald Trump and JD Vance have no time for the media’s antics. And they were sure to let them know that.
And Trump and Vance shut down the Leftist media in an epic way you have to see.
Liberals in the media lost their collective minds on Wednesday over the first Cabinet meeting of President Donald Trump’s second administration. The gathering, held that very day, featured none other than Elon Musk—whose presence sent shockwaves through the press corps.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words, pointing out that Musk is collaborating with the president and Cabinet secretaries to root out government fraud and waste.
For those with short memories, news outlet Townhall has been quick to note that during the prior administration, then-First Lady Jill Biden didn’t just attend Cabinet meetings—she ran the show. If the outrage over Musk’s cameo seems overblown, that’s because it is.
The Wednesday meeting wasn’t just a spectacle; it had substance. Musk took the floor and spoke, while Trump and Vice President JD Vance fielded questions with ease—something President Joe Biden rarely did. In fact, Trump and Vance didn’t just answer; they turned the tables on the press, putting them firmly in their place.
Meanwhile, the media’s fixation on Trump’s approach to ending the Russia-Ukrainian war, now three years old as of Monday, has reached a fever pitch. The conflict kicked off when Russian President Vladimir Putin, sensing weakness in the Biden-Harris administration’s limp foreign policy, seized his moment—especially after the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal.
Trump didn’t hold back when quizzed on it, insisting that Biden “could have prevented that war,” and that Putin “would have never gone in” under his watch. “The war would never have taken place if I were president,” he declared. Polls from shortly after Putin’s invasion show the public largely agreed.
Vance, jumping into the fray, emphasized that Trump’s foreign policy playbook doesn’t involve spilling the beans to the press beforehand.
“I mean, look, as the president said, we’re not going to do the negotiation in public with the American media. He’s going to do it in private with the president of Russia, with the president of Ukraine, and with other leaders,” Vance explained. “I think that’s how this has to go,” he added, brushing off flak not just from reporters but from their usual Democratic allies.
“Every single time the president engages in diplomacy, you guys preemptively accuse him of conceding to Russia. He hasn’t conceded anything to anyone. He’s doing the job of a diplomat, and he is of course the diplomat-in-chief as the president of the United States.”

Later, addressing the war’s endgame, Trump vowed, “We’re going to do the best we can to make the best deal we can for both sides,” with a focus on helping Ukraine “get as much back as possible”—a point he drove home hard.
At one lively moment, Vance cracked a joke to Trump: “Sir, they want you to negotiate with them instead of about the peacekeepers,” sparking chuckles around the room.
When the laughter faded, Trump got real: “It’s possible” there might not even be a peace deal, though he’s holding out hope “for the sake of humanity.” He didn’t shy away from slamming Biden either, calling out the damage his predecessor “gotten away with” as “a disgrace to our nation.”
Turning to the press, he jabbed, you “don’t write the fair thing, but, you know, the good news is the people see it and that’s why we won the election by so much.”
As the meeting wrapped and reporters shuffled out, Trump and Vance couldn’t resist a final quip about peacekeepers. Vance piped up, “Sir, how many peacekeepers are going to sit there?”—a lighthearted cap to a day that left the media reeling and the administration rolling.
