Trump Administration Launches Task Force to Combat Anti-Christian Bias
In a bold move to address perceived religious discrimination, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi convened the inaugural meeting of a new interagency task force on Tuesday, designed to eliminate “anti-Christian bias” within the federal government.
The gathering brought together high-ranking Cabinet officials from the Trump administration, signaling a unified front to tackle what they describe as systemic mistreatment of Christians under the previous Biden-led Justice Department.
Bondi, addressing a select group of reporters, framed the task force’s mission as a direct response to the “abuse” of federal authority in recent years. “As President Donald Trump has stated, the Biden administration engaged in an egregious pattern of targeting peaceful Christians while ignoring violent, anti-Christian offenses,” she declared. “The president is right.”
The meeting saw participation from an impressive roster of senior officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, FBI Director Kash Patel, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Other top agency leaders also attended, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the initiative.
Bondi seized the opportunity to spotlight early actions taken by the Trump administration to counter anti-Christian sentiment. Notably, the Justice Department has dismissed three cases against pro-life advocates and “redefined the FACE Act” to shield pro-life groups from what Bondi and her allies view as targeted persecution. These steps, she argued, reflect a renewed dedication to fairness and constitutional protections.
At the heart of the task force’s mission lies a deep reverence for the First Amendment. “The First Amendment isn’t just the line in the Constitution. It’s the cornerstone of our American memory,” Bondi emphasized.
“It guarantees every citizen the right to speak freely, worship freely, and live according to their conscience without government interference. Protecting Christians from bias is not favoritism. It’s upholding the rule of law and fulfilling the constitutional promise.”
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche revealed that part of the meeting focused on hearing firsthand accounts from individuals who suffered due to “anti-Christian sentiment” under the prior administration.
This closed-door session, off-limits to the press, aimed to uncover specific instances of bias across various federal departments and agencies.
As reporters were ushered out, Fox News pressed Justice Department officials and task force members for concrete examples of the alleged bias or details about the personal stories to be discussed privately. The officials offered no immediate response, but the Justice Department promised to share additional information following the meeting.
The task force itself was established through an executive order issued by President Trump in February, with a clear directive to root out “anti-Christian targeting and discrimination” within the government.
Trump tapped Bondi to lead the effort, praising her as a trusted figure to “fully prosecute anti-Christian violence and vandalism in our society.”
The initiative gained further momentum just days before the meeting, when Politico reported that the Trump administration had circulated an internal State Department cable.
The directive instructed employees worldwide, from embassies to D.C. headquarters, to report instances of “anti-Christian bias” among colleagues via an anonymous tip form, reinforcing the task force’s proactive approach.
Reflecting on the previous administration, Trump has been vocal about his concerns. “Biden’s Department of Justice abused and targeted Christians,” he stated earlier this year. “Pro-life Christians were arrested and imprisoned for peacefully praying outside abortion clinics… NO MORE!”
As the task force begins its work, it marks a pivotal moment in the Trump administration’s efforts to reshape the federal government’s approach to religious liberty, with a particular focus on safeguarding Christian communities from perceived prejudice.
