House Speaker Mike Johnson led the charge in honoring Kirk’s memory right on the House floor. He called for a moment of silence, reminding everyone of the gravity of this loss to the fight for American values.
“We ask everyone to pray for him and his family,” Johnson said to reporters. “This is detestable what’s happened. Political violence has become all too common in American society.”
“This is not who we are. It violates the core principles of our country.”
But the solemn tribute didn’t stay quiet for long. Rep. Lauren Boebert from Colorado stepped up, pushing for a spoken prayer to truly pay respects.
Boebert argued that “silent prayers get silent results,” a bold stand that hit home for many.

Rushed to the hospital, Kirk ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His death leaves a massive void in the push to rally young patriots.
President Trump wasted no time sharing his sorrow on Truth Social. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” he wrote.
“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
In a fitting tribute, Trump ordered American flags to fly at half-staff until Sunday, a symbol of the nation’s loss of a true warrior for freedom.
