And a big-time Democrat comedian may be switching parties after this wild interview.
On a recent Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” longtime liberal comedian and HBO host Bill Maher delivered a stinging rebuke of members of his own party.
“Democrats are cowardly. Their party is being taken over now. Every day I hear about a new, very radical guy,” Maher declared during the interview.
This admission from a man once seen as a reliable voice of the Hollywood left carries real weight. For years, Maher has carved out a reputation for pushing back against the most unhinged elements on his own side.
He openly admitted losing fans a decade ago by refusing to embrace the growing insanity.
“I feel very good about like 10 whenever years ago, I did lose fans — because I wasn’t gonna go along with some of this crazy stuff on the left too. I didn’t change really on what I thought about the right. But I can’t sit and just not notice stuff, which people seem to want to do because it’s all about my team or your team. But yeah, there’s some crazy stuff,” he continued.
Maher saved his sharpest criticism for the disturbing trends now dominating leftist activism.
The cheers for violence and anti-American causes have pushed him to his limit.
“You know, when we’re cheering for the Intifada, cut, I’m out,” Maher stated.
Host Jonathan Karl pressed him directly on the political implications.
“Your vote is up for grabs?” Karl asked.
Maher’s response was crystal clear and unapologetic:
“Yes. My vote is in play. Because it can’t be Trump running. So I’m not living in communist America. I mean, I know that the talking point is that it’s not communism, it’s socialism.”
“OK, I’ve read the quotes from the DSA platform from their own mouths. Don’t tell me I’m not seeing what I am seeing! And DSA, again, they they say things like ‘takeover of key industries’ that’s communism. You know, there is a definition.”
This moment reveals a truth many everyday Americans have known for some time.
The Democrat Party no longer represents working families or classic liberal values.
It has surrendered to socialist dreamers who want government control over major parts of the economy and daily life.
