Donald Trump is ready to drain the Washington, D.C. Swamp. He’s going to start on Capitol Hill first.

And Congress gets a massive shakeup thanks to this stunning announcement from Trump.

President-elect Donald Trump has officially endorsed two candidates for upcoming special elections in Florida, backing successors for outgoing Representatives Matt Gaetz and Mike Waltz. Gaetz recently resigned from Congress, while Waltz has been chosen to serve as Trump’s national security adviser.

Trump announced his support for Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis to succeed Gaetz in the 1st District and endorsed state lawmaker Randy Fine to take over Waltz’s seat in the 6th District.

In a post shared Monday, Trump encouraged Patronis to run, praising his potential to champion conservative values and align with the Trump administration’s priorities.

“As your next Congressman, Jimmy would work tirelessly alongside of me to Grow our Economy, Secure our Border, Stop Migrant Crime, Strengthen our Incredible Military/Vets, Restore American Energy DOMINANCE, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment,” Trump wrote.

Patronis, who also serves as Florida’s fire marshal and previously held a seat in the state House of Representatives, responded enthusiastically on X. “Put me to work, Mr. President! @realDonaldTrump I am here to serve,” he posted.

Similarly, Trump took to Truth Social over the weekend to endorse Randy Fine, calling him “an INCREDIBLE Fighter.”

Trump highlighted Fine’s commitment to key conservative priorities, including combating inflation, securing the border, and promoting energy independence.

“Should he decide to enter this Race, Randy Fine has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, RANDY, RUN!” Trump wrote.

Fine, who served in the state House from 2016 to 2024 and was elected to the state Senate earlier this year, hinted at an impending announcement following Trump’s endorsement.

“Mr. President, G-d saved you on that day in Butler so that you could save the world,” Fine said in a post on X. “It would be the honor of my life to be one of your footsoldiers. Your confidence is overwhelming and I will have news to share soon!”

Special elections for both districts are scheduled for April 1, with a candidate qualifying deadline set for December 6

Both districts have been Republican strongholds for decades, suggesting a favorable landscape for Trump’s chosen candidates.

And a favorable landscape is exactly what Trump and the Republican Party needs right now. Their current majority in the U.S. House is razor thin.

They can’t afford to lose anymore seats, especially with RINOs lurking in the lower chamber of Congress who won’t always be willing to vote for Donald Trump’s agenda.

That’s why the president-elect is doing everything he can to endorse quality candidates who have a real shot at winning their special elections.
