Former Democrat announces plan to join forces with the GOP in a wild twist

White House

Leftism is becoming increasingly unpopular among Americans. Even Leftist politicians are ditching the radical ideas of the Democrat Party.

And a former Democrat announces their plan to join forces with the GOP in a wild twist.

As we inch closer to the Republican National Convention in July, we’ll likely find out who former President Donald Trump has picked as his running mate.

Trump and his team have signaled in the past that around the convention is when he’ll pick his next vice president.

But in the meantime, political commentators are spending their time making educated guesses on who will win Trump’s veepstakes.

Currently, some of the candidates on Trump’s short list of potential vice presidential picks include: Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), Gov. Doug Burgum (R-ND), and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH).

But one individual is not included on that list despite their willingness to work with the former president.

Former Democrat Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI), has stated in the past that she would be honored to serve as vice president under Trump if asked to.

But in an interview last week, Gabbard, who’s now an independent, has stated that she would potentially join the Republican Party.

This would be a major flip in party affiliation as the former congresswoman ran for president as a Democrat just four years ago.

“I never say never,” Gabbard said while speaking with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel about the prospect of joining the GOP, specifically as Trump’s next VP.

Tulsi Gabbard also interviewed with The Regular Joe Show, where she detailed different ways she could serve in the Trump administration.

“I think there are a few different ways I could serve – as secretary of state, secretary of defense – there are a few different ways I believe I could best serve our country,” she said to host Joe Giganti.

“Ultimately, we’ve got to save our country and win this election. I look forward to finding the best way that I can do that.”

Gabbard officially left the Democrat Party in 2022 when she became an independent.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism, actively work to undermine our God-given freedomes, are hostile to people of faith & spirituality, demonize the police & protect criminals at the expense of law-abiding Americans, believe in open borders, weaponize the national security state to go after political opponents, and above all, dragging us ever closer to nuclear war,” she said at the time.

Since she left the Democrats several years ago, she’s campaigned with Republicans and has also offered support to Donald Trump during his legal woes.

After the former president received a guilty verdict a few weeks ago in his hush money trial, Gabbard posted on X in support of Trump.

“Biden: GUITLY of abuse of power. Biden: GUILTY of turning our country into a banana republic where those in power use the law to go after their political opponents,” her X post read.

But will her criticism of the Democrat Party and her support of Donald Trump help her rise up as a serious contender for the former president’s VP spot?

Only time will tell.
