Biden is quickly losing his strongest allies. They’ve finally realized how awful of a president he really is.

And Joe Biden explodes in a fit of rage after what this Big Tech company did to him.

Biden Blasts Meta’s End to Fact-Checking, Calls Decision “Shameful”

President Joe Biden criticized Meta on Friday for its recent decision to end its third-party fact-checking program, calling the move a betrayal of American values and “shameful.”

“The whole idea of walking away from facts checking [sic] as well as not reporting anything having to do with, uh, um, discrimination regarding TPS I find to be just contrary to American justice,” Biden said during a question and answer session, responding to a reporter’s question about Meta’s policy change.

The president’s reference to “discrimination regarding TPS,” an acronym for the Temporary Protected Status program that provides protections for foreign nationals from specific countries, left some puzzled, as it was unclear how Meta’s new policy directly relates to the program.

“Telling the truth matters,” Biden added. “I don’t know what that’s all about. It’s just completely contrary to everything America’s about.”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced the company’s decision to get rid of it’s third-party fact-checking service with another one that’s more similar to the Community Notes feature that X has.

The change will impact Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, with Zuckerberg stating that the shift aims to restore “free expression” and “reduce mistakes” made during Meta’s previous attempts at fact-checking.

“We want to tell the truth. We haven’t always done it as a nation, but we want to tell the truth,” Biden remarked, expressing frustration over the decision.

The president also criticized what he sees as the power of wealthy tech executives to reshape online information policies unilaterally.

“A billionaire can buy something and say, ‘By the way, from this point on, we’re not going to, we’re not going to fact check anything,’” Biden said, though Zuckerberg, who founded Meta as Facebook in 2004, has not purchased the company.

“When you have millions of people reading, going online, reading this stuff, it is — anyway, I think it’s, I think it’s really shameful,” Biden stated.

Just hours before the president’s comments, Zuckerberg appeared on the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, where he criticized the Biden administration for pressuring Meta to censor COVID-19 vaccine-related content.

Zuckerberg claimed that officials from the administration had phoned company executives to “scream” and “curse” at them, demanding the removal of posts critical of coronavirus vaccines.

“It was brutal,” Zuckerberg said of the experience, saying that “the US government should be defending its companies, not be at the tip of the spear attacking its companies.”
