Kamala Harris’s plan to ditch Joe Biden for good has the White House seething with rage

Harris and Biden’s relationship is on the rocks. There’s a good chance it will never be repaired.

And Kamala Harris’s plan to ditch Joe Biden for good has the White House seething with rage.

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to embark on the campaign trail for her presidential bid, but notably, she will be doing so without the physical presence of President Joe Biden by her side. According to three campaign officials who spoke to NBC News, there are no plans for Biden to join Harris on the road as Election Day approaches.

Instead, President Biden will focus on maintaining his duties behind the scenes. His role will include leveraging his long-standing political relationships, especially with labor leaders, while also hosting official White House events to highlight his administration’s achievements.

This approach is seen as strategically beneficial for Harris, as it gives her room to establish her own identity and vision as a candidate instead of being closely tied to the failing presidency of Joe Biden. However, Harris has struggled to distance herself from Biden.

“He’s out there doing the job as president, and she’s out there campaigning,” one campaign official shared with NBC News. “It’s clear voters want something new.”

A Democratic strategist further elaborated on the dynamic, saying, “Harris has to be establishing herself as a change agent, and it’s hard to do that with a sitting president at her side.”

During a recent interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier, Harris emphasized that her presidency would not simply carry on Biden’s policies.

“My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden’s presidency, and, like every new president that comes into office, I will bring my life experiences, my professional experiences, and fresh and new ideas. I represent a new generation of leadership,” Harris stated.

She also highlighted her diverse background, pointing out that she hasn’t spent the majority of her career in Washington, D.C. “I invite ideas, whether it be from the Republicans who are supporting me, who were just on stage with me minutes ago, and the business sector, and others who can contribute to the decisions that I make,” Harris added.

This shift in campaign strategy comes at a time when public sentiment about Biden’s presidency is poor.

A recent NBC News poll revealed that only “25 percent of voters said Biden’s presidency has helped them and their families, with 45 percent saying his time in office has hurt them.” In contrast, the poll found that “43 percent of voters said [Trump’s presidency] helped them and their families, versus 31 percent who said his presidency hurt them.”

Harris’s Strategy To Distance Herself From Biden Is Failing

Kamala Harris can try and distance herself from the Biden admin as much as possible, but it’s simply not working.

And this is due to her own mistakes as well. On a recent episode of ABC’s “The View,” she said that she wouldn’t have done anything differently during her time in the Biden administration and added that she was “apart of most of the decisions.” Remember, that administration is incredibly unpopular among the American people.

Harris can ditch Biden on the campaign trail, but it won’t help how voters perceive her in relation to being connected to the president.

Time is running out for the vice president to convince Americans that she’s a different candidate.

But at this point it’s doubtful that she’ll be able to accomplish that.
