In the heart of Texas, where conservative values run deep, a Democrat named James Talarico is making waves with his extreme views on gender issues. Fresh off a win in the Democratic primary, he’s gunning for a Senate seat in a state that handed President Donald Trump a landslide victory by nearly 14 points in 2024. But a resurfaced podcast clip is exposing what critics call his obsession with transgender ideology, painting him as out of touch with everyday Texans.
The bombshell moment came during an August 2023 appearance on the “A Superbloom” podcast. When pressed to name something he loved besides family or friends, Talarico didn’t hesitate.
“I love, I’m just saying this because it’s all on my mind, the trans children who showed up yesterday at the state capitol to advocate for their humanity. They shouldn’t have to, but it was an inspiration to watch,” he said.
This revelation, dug up by The Daily Wire, comes as Talarico tries to soften his image for the general election. He’s been a vocal champion of transgender causes in the Texas legislature, often clashing with efforts to safeguard children from irreversible medical interventions.
Last year, he voted against a crucial law that banned transgender surgeries and cross-s*x hormone treatments for minors. That stance alone raises eyebrows in a state where protecting kids is a top priority for many voters.
Now, Talarico faces a tough road ahead. He’ll square off against either incumbent Senator John Cornyn or Attorney General Ken Paxton, both heading into a Republican runoff after a heated primary.
These GOP heavyweights have consistently stood against allowing such procedures on children.
Talarico’s views go even further. In a committee hearing, he boldly declared that science recognizes more than just male and female.
“The one thing I want us to all be aware of is that modern science obviously recognizes that there are many more than two biological s*xes,” he stated. “In fact, there are six.”
Republicans aren’t mincing words about this. The party has labeled Talarico a “sick freak,” arguing his comments show a dangerous fixation on pushing gender confusion onto kids.
“James Talarico is a sick freak obsessed with talking to kids about s*x changes,” GOP spokesman Zach Kraft said to The Daily Wire.
“I am not sure which one of his six genders he ‘identifies’ as, but he needs to keep that to himself and stay away from children.”
Despite positioning himself as a devout Christian, Talarico has twisted faith to fit his agenda. He once argued that parents who refuse to go along with their child’s gender confusion are essentially abusers.
