All hell is breaking loose after this audio was unearthed. It’s not a good look for Biden and the Democrats.

And this leaked recording of Joe Biden has the Democrat Party burying their heads in the sand.

Biden’s Memory Lapses Revealed in Newly Released Audio: A Closer Look at Cognitive Struggles and Democratic Efforts to Conceal Them

Audio recordings from former special counsel Robert Hur’s October 2023 interviews with former President Joe Biden have surfaced, shedding light on the former president’s difficulty recalling key details from his personal and professional life. Obtained by Axios, the recordings, captured over two three-hour sessions on October 8 and 9, paint a vivid picture of Biden’s cognitive challenges, raising questions about his mental acuity during his presidency.

In one striking moment, Biden grapples with recalling the year his son Beau passed away. Beau Biden died from brain cancer on May 30, 2015. While Biden could pinpoint the month and day, he faltered when trying to recall the year, requiring prompts from the special counsel’s team to clarify. The audio captures Biden’s hesitation, with long pauses punctuated by the steady ticking of a grandfather clock in the background, amplifying the weight of his struggle to piece together the timeline.

The recordings also reveal Biden’s confusion over significant political milestones. He mistakenly swaps the year of Donald Trump’s 2016 election with 2017, the year Trump took office and Biden left the vice presidency. Despite repeated prompts to clarify the timeline, Biden stumbles, backtracking and repeating himself.

At one point, even after being corrected about Beau’s death, he appears to misstate the year again. His speech is halting, with frequent pauses as he seems to search for words, stringing together only a few at a time before stopping to regroup.

The Hur report, which informed the decision not to charge Biden with mishandling classified documents, cited his age and memory issues as factors that would likely sway a jury in his favor. “Mr. Biden’s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023,” the report noted. It added that Biden would likely appear to a jury “as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” a characterization that aligns with the audio’s portrayal of his disjointed responses.

Another clip highlights Biden’s candid admission about retaining classified materials. Discussing a document related to Afghanistan, he explained, “I don’t know if it was going to be the subject of reporting, but I wanted to hang onto it, I guess I wanted to hang onto it just for posterity’s sake.” He elaborated, “I mean, this was my position on Afghanistan,” suggesting a personal attachment to the document rather than a strategic or legal rationale.

The release of these recordings not only illuminates Biden’s cognitive struggles but also casts a spotlight on the concerted efforts by Democratic leaders and allies to downplay or conceal these challenges during his presidency.

Throughout Biden’s term, reports of his mental sharpness—or lack thereof—were often dismissed as partisan attacks or ageist tropes. Yet, behind closed doors, party insiders reportedly grappled with how to manage perceptions of his declining faculties while maintaining his public image as a capable leader.

Democratic operatives and aides employed several strategies to shield Biden’s vulnerabilities from public scrutiny. They carefully curated his public appearances, limiting unscripted moments and favoring teleprompter-driven speeches over impromptu exchanges.

Press conferences were kept to a minimum, with pre-selected reporters and questions to avoid potential gaffes. When Biden did speak off-the-cuff, aides were quick to reframe verbal missteps as endearing quirks or redirect attention to policy achievements.

The media, too, played a role in this dynamic, with some outlets accused of soft-pedaling stories about Biden’s mental state to avoid accusations of bias or to counter Republican narratives. Leaked accounts from within the administration, however, painted a different picture: staffers privately expressed concerns about Biden’s ability to handle the rigors of the presidency.

These concerns were rarely aired publicly, as Democrats rallied to present a united front, framing any critique of Biden’s cognition as an attack on his character or legacy.

The Hur audio tapes, now public, dismantle the carefully constructed facade, offering unfiltered evidence of Biden’s struggles. They point to the lengths to which his party went to protect him—and themselves—from the political fallout of acknowledging his decline.

As voters reflect on the 2020 and 2024 elections, these recordings may prompt renewed scrutiny of how transparency, or the lack thereof, shaped the Democratic Party’s approach to leadership and public trust.
