The White House has been doing what it can while being under constant scrutiny. And now the tide is finally turning.
Because President Trump delivered a huge Christmas gift for middle-class Americans.
Trump Policies Bring Holiday Cheer with Lowest Gas Prices in Years
President Trump’s commitment to American energy independence has gifted families across the country this Christmas, driving the national average for regular gasoline down to $2.847 per gallon on December 25—the lowest Christmas Day price since 2020 during his first administration, when it stood at $2.224 per gallon.
This achievement comes amid the fifth consecutive week of falling prices, a welcome reversal from the Biden years when Christmas averages consistently topped $3 per gallon, including $3.307 in December 2021 and elevated costs in every holiday season thereafter.
The current $2.847 average also marks the nation’s lowest overall fuel price since March 2021 ($2.81 per gallon), easing the burden on households after prolonged highs driven by restrictive energy policies.
Consistent Declines Reward Pro-Production Agenda
Fuel costs have steadily retreated since early fall, starting from $3.16 on October 2, dipping to $3.04 by month’s end, and breaking below $3 nationally on December 2 for the first time in four years—continuing the downward trend through Christmas Eve at $2.854 before settling at $2.847.
An impressive forty states now feature averages under $3 per gallon—the highest count in recent years—with eleven states boasting prices below $2.50, putting real savings into the hands of everyday Americans.
Leading the pack are energy-friendly states like Oklahoma at $2.28 per gallon, followed by Iowa at $2.39, Arkansas at $2.40, Texas at $2.42, and Colorado at $2.44—regions thriving under Trump’s push to maximize domestic production.
Stark Regional Differences Highlight Policy Impact
Higher prices linger in coastal areas, with Hawaii at $4.42, California at $4.28, Washington state at $3.903, Alaska at $3.55, and Oregon at $3.47—often exacerbated by local regulations that limit supply and drive up costs.
Notably, eight of the eleven areas (including D.C.) with averages over $3 per gallon are governed by Democrats, underscoring how Trump’s national leadership contrasts with state-level obstacles.
As millions of Americans embark on holiday road trips in record numbers, these dramatically lower prices—made possible by unleashing American energy—mean more money stays with families for gifts, meals, travel, and celebrations, delivering tangible economic relief and proving the power of putting America first.
