Democrat infighting has hit a boiling point. The party is crumbling before our eyes.
And these radical Leftists exchange blows during tension-filled taping of this late night TV show.
In a showdown on CBS’s late-night show, host Stephen Colbert didn’t hold back when grilling former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about President Joe Biden’s obvious stumbles. Jean-Pierre, who’s now ditched the Democrats entirely, tried to spin a tale that she never spotted any red flags on Biden’s mental sharpness during her time in the administration. But Colbert, usually a reliable cheerleader for the left, called her out hard, pointing to that disastrous debate with Donald Trump as proof something was seriously off.
Jean-Pierre doubled down, insisting Biden was on top of his game behind closed doors. “No one is saying that he didn’t age,” she said. “I’m talking about did he have… the mental acuity, was he able to govern? And the man that I saw nearly every day was someone who was engaging, understood policy, and was always putting the American people first.”
Colbert wasn’t buying it one bit. He fired back, reminding her how the debate exposed a side of Biden that shocked millions. “It was very personal for those of us who watched [the debate] too, because it was a shock to our system to see that. Because — I mean, you’re talking to a guy who helped raise $25 million for Joe Biden in March of that same year,” he said. “And three months later, I saw a guy who I had not seen backstage at the benefit that I did. It seemed like a dramatically different person. And at 81 years old, that’s not entirely unexpected. You can imagine why people got so worried.”
The late-night host kept pressing, making it clear that good intentions aren’t enough in the Oval Office. “I don’t think anybody questioned his heart or his policies. But it takes more than that to be the President of the United States,” Colbert stated. “And in a moment of great pressure on stage, we saw someone shock us and worry us, and nothing could assuage that worry. So I don’t think it was necessarily a betrayal of Joe Biden as other people saying, ‘We don’t think we were shown the Joe Biden that you saw.’”
Jean-Pierre pushed back against the backlash, calling out what she saw as vicious attacks on a veteran politician. She described the calls for Biden to bow out as a “really ugly assault on someone who had 50-plus years of experience and who, again, objectively had done a good job as President of the United States.”
She didn’t stop there, venting about the emotional toll. Jean-Pierre said “it was heartbreaking to see that type of behavior.” In her view, the pile-on from fellow Democrats was a low blow against a guy who’d dedicated his life to public service.
Colbert, ever the dramatic type, ramped up the intensity. “Disappointment is such a light term,” he said. “It was harrowing. OK, look, listen, we are never going to agree on this other than the fact that I’m glad that you came here tonight.”
This whole mess has pushed Jean-Pierre right out of the Democratic fold. In her new book, she reveals how the pressure campaign to force Biden aside left her fed up with the party’s hypocrisy. “Now the cloud of unease hovering over me solidified into an idea about how I could possibly do something different. How I could channel my disappointment into some kind of concrete action that would allow me to fight for what I believed in without giving blind loyalty to a party I felt no longer deserved it,” she says in her book.
She didn’t mince words about her big move. “You know what? I’m going to become an independent. I don’t think I can stomach being in the Democratic Party anymore,” she continued. That’s a bold step, especially from someone who was once the face of Biden’s inner circle—shows just how rotten things have gotten inside the Dem machine.
The skepticism didn’t end with Colbert. In another sit-down on CBS Mornings, Jean-Pierre stuck to her guns, claiming Biden was sharp as a tack and fully capable of running the show. But the hosts weren’t letting her off easy, questioning how anyone close to him could miss the signs.
Co-host Tony Dokoupil laid it out plain: “I have to say, I thought you were going to say that, try as you might to convince Joe Biden to drop out of the race — because what we were seeing is what you were seeing, and he was struggling, and couldn’t do it — I thought you were going to say you were angry at that.”
“What you said in this book is you’re angry at the people who tried to push him out.”
He didn’t sugarcoat the public’s reaction either. “Some Americans are going to say, ‘seriously?’” It’s about time mainstream media types started asking the tough questions instead of covering for their own.
Fellow host Gayle King jumped in, voicing doubts that Biden’s team was blind to his fading abilities. This kind of pushback from CBS hosts highlights the cracks in the left’s united front.
Jean-Pierre’s defection is a wake-up call for patriots everywhere. If even a loyal insider like her can’t stomach the Democratic Party anymore, imagine what that says about the mess they’ve made.
It’s all about power grabs and ignoring the will of the people who want strong, clear-headed leadership.
In the end, this saga exposes the elite bubble in Washington and Hollywood. While they propped up Biden as a savior, real Americans saw through the facade long ago—thanks to Trump’s unfiltered truth-telling.
Jean-Pierre’s exit might just be the start of more rats jumping ship from a sinking Democratic vessel.
