President Trump’s list of enemies continues to grow. They can’t stand his agenda to make America more prosperous.
And these radical Leftists are throwing President Trump’s executive order back in his face in a repulsive move.
Hospitals and clinics across the country are refusing to comply with President Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at “protecting children from chemical and surgical mutilation.” Instead of bowing to federal pressure, many institutions are standing firm in their radical commitment to providing transgender medical care for minors.
Mass General Brigham, along with other hospitals in the Boston area, confirmed to Boston public radio that transgender medical treatments will continue as usual. A spokesperson for the hospital stated they are “reviewing the federal actions to determine what impact they would have if implemented.”
On the West Coast, Oregon Health & Science University, one of the state’s leading providers of transgender surgeries, has made it clear that Trump’s order will not disrupt its services. According to Oregon Live, the institution remains steadfast in its commitment to gender-affirming care.
Minnesota hospitals are also staying the course. According to The Bemidji Pioneer, multiple healthcare providers have affirmed that transgender treatments will continue, and no facility in the state has announced plans to scale back services.
Legal Battles and Government Warnings
Hospitals defying the order face a complex legal landscape, with conflicting directives coming from state and federal levels. New York Attorney General Letitia James has warned that complying with Trump’s order would violate state laws regarding discrimination, cautioning hospitals that following federal directives could put them in legal jeopardy.
Meanwhile, attorneys general from 15 states have challenged the Trump administration’s federal funding freeze, arguing that the move is unlawful and that threats to strip funding from hospitals lack legal standing. In a joint statement, they declared, “We will challenge any unlawful effort by the Trump Administration to restrict access to [transgender operations and treatment] in our jurisdictions.”
Partial Compliance and Restrictions
While some hospitals refuse to change course, others are taking a more cautious approach. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago will continue offering puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and mental health services but has stopped performing surgeries.
Similarly, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has ceased accepting new patients for transgender medications but will continue treating existing patients. At the time of Trump’s order, the hospital did not perform gender-reassignment surgeries.
In Wisconsin, parents of transgender patients at Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee were told that while new patients seeking transgender care will not be accepted, there “should be no changes” for current patients. A spokesperson for Denver Health confirmed to Fox News Digital that while all transgender surgeries are being terminated, hormone therapy will continue “through the end of February.”
Funding Fallout and Legal Challenges
The Trump administration’s enforcement of the order has already had tangible effects. St. John’s Community Health in Los Angeles lost a $1.6 million grant that was intended to support transgender treatment services. Despite this setback, the clinic has vowed to continue its services and is preparing legal action to challenge the administration’s move.
St. John’s officials argue that the order represents an alarming expansion of federal power. In a statement to Fox News Digital, a clinic spokesperson warned that Republicans “in particular” should be concerned about Trump’s “overreach” and the administration’s “attempts to create false narratives about gender-affirming care that go against decades of science.”
“The attacks on trans health care are blatant attempts by the federal government to interfere in peoples’ private lives — including in doctor-patient relationships and in parent-child relationships — and should alarm all of us,” the spokesperson added.
A Growing Battle
Despite these so-called warnings by advocates for harmful transgender care for minors, Donald Trump remains steadfast in working to abolish transgender surgeries for minors all across the country. Hospitals may be able to sue him, but that won’t stop him and his administration from continuing to fight for the well-being of Americans.
